South EndZone

The cost of the SEZ should be less now due to decreased construction costs. I read about an interstate interchange that is being completed $15 million under budget because of the decrease in construction costs.

You may not have to sit in the Press Box, but try explaining to your fellow BIG 12 office buds why the ISU stadium looks amateurish on national TV. I had to following the WVU game to several Mountainnaire alumni in DC. Maybe we can build a new Aquacenter or Tennis arena next....

Well you should have explained our dynamics of our stadium.i.e. our suites are between the decks on both sides, and not attached to the press box.

Did you explain to those wvu fans that out stadiums are virtually the same and if they make fun of 1 they are basically making fun of their own?

LOL at the comment of WVU making light of our stadium. It's the same damn design...LOL.

Could not care less about the press box. SEZ and call it good.

The stadiums are similar as far as the east-west seating structure. But WVU has the lower-bowled end zones. They were making light of the grassy seating areas at JTS and SEZ bleachers. I'm fine with the Press Box, but I can't rationalize the SEZ as it stands.

Their bowled in endzones are a half assed job. Yes, it looks nicer than ours, but its not saying much.

Nice. You have no idea how much I contribute to this university. If you're happy competing with KU for the crappiest FB stadium in the Big 12, so be it. Might explain why the North Grand Mall still stands today. No growth Ames...

If you paid any attention to JP then you know why he is holding off. He would rather have people turned away at the ticket office because there is no seats left in JTS over not having enough cash to keep CPR when we start getting 8-9 wins a season. You think you hear CPR's name mentioned at every job now, just wait until we really start having some success.

Now I ask, what happens if we build a SEZ and then Texas comes calling for CPR and we don't have enough to keep CPR interested? Given our history we fall back to jumping from coach to coach and losing seasons...how many fans stay passionate about cyclone football? I fully trust JP to do what is best for the program.

Wow, are you clueless. You sure think you know a lot for living in Virginia.

To be fair WVU's stadium is Jack Trice 2.0. Seating is higher and closer, and it is bowled at one end. It was based on Jack Trice but with some obvious improvements.

Hope we do it soon....embarrassing that many Texas HS stadiums have better digs.

...and yes...I do donate as much as I can every year before someone posts it.

KU's stadium is nowhere close to JTS

Ive been in some of the nicer texas hs stadiums (the berry center on the NW side of houston in particular), and while they are awesome for a high school, no they are not better than JTS, not even close.

Just let JP worry about it, unless you have enough to be lead donor on pressbox or SEZ...he'll do us right and you might not agree or understand at the time but it will be the right call.

I agree. I don't think that ISU fans need to be perpetuating that myth. JTS is a nice stadium and a great place to watch a game. The only thing that even the nicest TX HS stadium has over it is that it's newer. When the SEZ gets done, JTS is going to be really nice. As far as the press box, if I could change it, I'd make it half as high and 2-3x as long. That would be a great press box for ISU and would stand the test of time well. Of course, I don't know how they'd do it with the concessions underneath.

As far as the SEZ, I think that if there's a $10M donor sitting out there, it's going to get done soon. If not, it's going to take awhile unless they can pocket $5M of the new TV/Sugar Bowl/playoff money a year for the next 5 years for a down payment.
