Our press box is so small. The current SEZ bleachers look high school-ish. Even K-State has found the funds to expand. If we want to be part of the big picture equation, the time is now.

Is our press box a bit cramped? Sure. But most schools' suites are attached to the press box making them bigger. Our set up is different. IMO, our SEZ needs to be addressed first.

No more band-aid projects. A little here and a little there ....it makes the entire football complex look disjointed. Do it all at once or don't do it at all. Go big - we have new TV revenue which is more than enough.

Which is being committed to many other projects and projected salaries. There's no way we can go with a "all at once" approach.

The press box looks small in comparison to the entire west-side seating. More vertical than horizontal. It just looks tiny. If we can't do a major SEZ and press box renovation at once, then yes, the SEZ should come first.

You really don't understand the dynamics of our athletic department, our current debt load, tv revenue, and future plans.

I more than understand. I know how much it costs to do little projects that look outdated in 5 years and don't mesh with a big-time football complex. The Jake is a great example. It looks small just like out tiny "updated" press box. Band-aid approach. K-State and TCU understand.

Name a single major renovation project at Iowa State under the direction of Jamie Pollard that has been a "band-aid" approach...

IF anything happens, it will be done correctly and on a time schedule that best suits our needs and finances.

I support Pollard. He's a great AD. Yes, money is tight. But three schools in the BIG 12 just completed - or are in the process of major renovations. K-State, Baylor and TCU. I love our new scoreboard. The widening of the concourses was necessary. Sure, VIP suites bring in more revenue. We are at the point where it is physically impossible to jam anymore bodies into JTS. If we want to be considered a big-time program, we need to keep up...at the very least, with our own conference. There are ways to finance the renovations over a long period and spread the costs out. 60k-65k fans year in and year out produces a large increase in football revenue to help pay off the bonds - in addition to the new TV revenue. We need to stop talking about it and just do it. If ISU was drawing 40,000 per game - no discussion. Cramming bodies onto a grassy slope or jamming bodies into high school bleachers is enough. Might as well build a new football stadium if we wait another 5+ years. The time is now....

No, you don't understand.

Open your checkbook if you think you do.

You may not have to sit in the Press Box, but try explaining to your fellow BIG 12 office buds why the ISU stadium looks amateurish on national TV. I had to following the WVU game to several Mountainnaire alumni in DC. Maybe we can build a new Aquacenter or Tennis arena next....
