Sound System

I have been to games across the country, and it's way over the top. Dozens in our section were holding their ears, and I have concerns about damage to our kids ears. I plan to email Jamie, I hope others do. [email protected]
The game was great, but the sound was bad.

Is it the old guy in me or is the sound system set to "ears bleeding" level?

Where I sit in section 20 lower tier top row they have small speakers but don't use them. Agree the music gets loud, but we could not hear anything when they were annoucing the lineup, or the penalties. Hopefully, they get this worked out.

Our tickets are in BB. Punishingly loud and I have less than perfect hearing. Wasn't an issue last year.

I think it is low class for ISU to have to pump in music to get people excited. Fine, play a few songs, but the fans need to create the noise, not ear piercing speakers. I could not even talk to my son for most of the game.

+1000 and the sound is not good for your kids ears. I know, I was around too much noise when I was young and am paying for it now.

Speaking of the video board; anyone got a video of the introduction and team entrance for this year?

I found one on youtube but it starts when the team is coming out and pretty shaky quality.

The first time in the Case IH redzone about had me jump out of my seat when they played it. I have been down at field level most of the times and didn't notice it, but the 2 times I've been in the upper deck it was definitely way too loud. Would be nice if they could make it more uniform throughout the stadium. Feedback from the ref's mic has been an issue at JTS since I started going to games in the 80's

I don't think the overall volume is an issue, just the higher pitches. They need to turn down the treble and it'll be fine.

I don't think it is much about age because you're supposed to lose that range of hearing as you get older. Unless it is just that the generation that grew up with ipods are now all deaf.

I moved around several times yesterday. The volume seemed fine in the lower level (east side) but sounded really loud and distorted in the upper level on the west side. Some songs sounded fine but others were terrible.

The volume was fine.

I dont know if everyone is just used to our pathetic system before, but every other stadium i've been to has pretty similar volume-wise.

I had no issues with the sound level. Thought it was great. My only sound-related complaint is the referee's microphone and its feedback.

Yesterday's crowd noise was somewhere in between mediocre and decent - not awful and not great. Once we turn that level up for bigger conference games, the sound system level will fit right in.

This is true. OSU and Iowa game last year, when the crowd was roaring, that thing had to be turned all the way up.

Wow-super fast response from Pollard. " Thank you for the feedback. I will share it with our staff so we can hopefully make the necessary adjustments for our next game."

Now i feel like i need to shoot an email for those that had no problem with the sound.

Can't wait till they turn it down and then we can't hear things when we have a game vs someone that actually gets the crowd going.

Upper deck West side was borderline unbearable for about half the music. Some was ok, but at least 50% was 10x what it needs to be. Don't need blood coming out of my ears.
