Some comments from Sage

Man, I guess I am old. I still think of the Jacobson building as almost brand new. And the press box.

Welcome to the college football arms race. ****'s outta control. Gotta invest if you want to compete. And like it or not, college football is a necessary evil. A good football program is the best advertising a university can get.

No. There's an army of parents who love the baby-sitting area.

Unfortunately for them, Jack Trice is evolving away from a daycare facility into an actual football stadium. So sorry.

This is a pretty naive statement. The hillsides are meant to be family friendly. Not many stadiums have a family friendly or cost efficient area in them. Many of those families would not attend the game without that cost efficient and family friendly environment.

While that may sound appealing to some, many of those kids in the baby-sitting area turn into season ticket holders down the road.

If you don't like the baby-sitting environment of the hillsides buy an actual seat.

Somebody photoshop something like this into the NEZ:

someone quick just change the end zone text and video board logo

Naive? What about my statement isn't true?

Winning football creates more season ticket holders than any daycare ever will. If demand dictates another expansion, the AD isn't going to shed any tears over replacing grass seats with real bleachers.

The current demand for football tickets still fell short of filling all of the seats in the stadium for a ranked matchup. Think we have a ways to go before adding capacity of actual seats.

This is dumb. Sage and JP talk frequently- he can say what he wants w/o JP's approval. In this case, he is not wrong even if much of this is far off and still speculative

Not much of a negotiator if you think JP wants Sage telling people on the radio that money is no object to keeping Campbell. That they have a "pile of cash" waiting to throw at him. If the public thinks money isn't an issue that's a pretty big handicap regardless of whether it's true or not.

I like that pressure on JP, I think it should be more of a priority to raise our coach's salaries.

What pile of cash is that? I thought that we were spending just about every cent of our revenue?

When looking at end of the year financials you need to remember that athletic department accounting is always up for interpretation. Some schools want you to think they have more resources than they actually have (Louisville), some want you to think they have less (Iowa State).

They always have fairly sensible reasons for declaring the numbers they do, but I'd recommend taking them with a grain of salt.

Maybe a park at the park thing like at Petco Park in San Diego?

A mini football field with video boards so kids can play and parents can watch the game

I still think OSU has the oddest NEZ. There are NO seats in theirs.

TCU's at least has some seats, but looks strange.

That’s nice, and true, but not a rebuttal to what he’s saying. As the football fanbase grows, JTS won’t need to have “investment” price-point tickets. It’s a good thing, and hopefully happens sooner than later. I do hope that when we work on the NEZ, we bump capacity so that we can keep some “investment” seats for the next generation of fans.

I agree. The only thing run down about the Jake is the "Iowa State Cyclones" window stickers that are faded. In 2009 (I think that's when they installed them) they looked great, now not so much.

what Sage says has absolutely zero to do with any negotiating that ISU does. None! Even if it did make things dicey, who gives a bleep? That is JP's problem. Trust me, it is not a factor and your assumption is such a huge stretch. You are thinking about something way too much that absolutely does not matter.

Besides, who cares what JP thinks? He works for us and for Sage. It is his job to make it happen.

Before CW contacts JP about the pile of cash, I think we need to put together a list of all the **** that we want so that CW can also present that to him.

Pedestrian tunnel or bridge at University & 16th please.

Drone concession delivery.

Edit to add better cell phone capacity and free stadium wifi.

Your baby sitting are comment was lazy. I tip my cap to Iowa State for providing a family friendly game day atmosphere. Lil cyclone fans turn into future Iowa State grads and season ticket holders.
