So close to being a solid team.

Texas offense is not good you know and they torched us. Yes we torched theirs as well. That's why neither team will probably make a bowl as if today it really means anything with only needing 6 wins.

WVU is likely too good for us to beat. Cold hard truth.

I agree, that's a pipe dream. This 2-5 team has three almost certain losses still left on the schedule. Texas Tech and Kansas are the only games that we will likely be competitive in.

At some point,* games like these are no longer flukes. It's just who you are -- not good enough to win because we don't have enough talent, coaching, and brains. It's not going to change anytime soon.

*Actually, that point came for ISU 20 years ago, but the point stands.

Last year we wouldn't have even been in this game. If you want to actually discuss the game, by all means please do. If you want to just point out that we lost and our record is poor, most of us have figured that out already.
Actually, when we played a TX team last year that was actually decent (8-5 with a bowl loss to Oregon), we were right in the game but lost due to inexcusably stupid play (hail mary, anyone?).

This TX team is worse. They lost to BYU 41-7 at home. And once again, we lost due to inexcusably stupid play. It's kind of a pattern.

Our talent does not allow us to play without smarts at times and we all feel the pain.

I'm going to say at this point in the season Texas is playing better than they were when we played them last year. That of course is my opinion, and you can disagree with it if you'd like.

Year after year is the same story. "We were so close to winning these games! We're going to break through."

Fool me once shame on you...fool me twice...
Uhh, I'm pretty sure it been the same story for all 100+ years of ISU football... You are not an ISU fan because you want to cheer for a team that will win many games on a consistent basis.

We shouldn't pay our coach 2 million dollars then. Just have people volunteer to coach and play.

I don't see why we should expect a few wins a year. How dare him.

If you look where Iowa State is in the conference standings and where Rhoads is in terms of pay compared to the rest of the conference they are in pretty much the same spot.

Well if wins don't matter. Why bother even paying the coach.
