Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

I think all you guys care waaaaay too much about what a 16 year old kid said on twitter. Who gives a ****, people say dumb **** on there allllll the time, especially people a lot older and supposedly more mature than him.

Gotta say sitting around trolling about what a high school kid tweeted is a lot more pathetic than a high school kid tweeting or saying something stupid.

If I do recall there was a certain fan base going ape **** on Twitter (directly) to a highly rated football RB recruit......(17, maybe 18 years old).

You never answered my question because you knew I was right. I'm not trolling here, if Monte would have lost out on Mr Basketball in Michigan to Walton (who many thought would win it) and went to Twitter saying he didn't deserve it I would think that would be a red flag. Plus I feel bad for Joe for being thrown under the bus like that by his teammates
A red flag? A red flag is getting caught with drugs or beating the **** out of a kid for no reason. A 16 year old tweeting that his brother should of won it is not a "red flag" dude. If that is a red flag, then 3/4 of the people on twitter in the United States have a ton of red flags.

I didn't respond because It didn't make sense. ISU is a 5 seed with 10 losses. Plus I said I was done with the topic.

If you honestly think that a So in HS tweeting something is a red flag, what would you think of kids in college getting OWI's or walking out of practice, etc? I mean this is stooping to a really low level even for you.

My boys play basketball at a smaller school. Not as small as Joe Smoldt's. They were discussing this yesterday and weren't real impressed by the attitude that only a 4A player is deserving. I imagine other kids in the state feel the same.

Whar outrage about a college kid talking smack? If Fran's kids in high school should know better then a college sophomore should know better as well.

You're comparing a 20 year old college students social media habits to a 15 year old? Lol, 15 year olds shouldn't even have a twitter account to begin with.

If Monte would have done that I would have thought it was a red flag. I would a respectful and high character kid would congratulate his teammate instead of going to twitter and saying he didn't deserve it. That's just my opinion, you don't have to agree with it

Hopefully this is trolling.

Otherwise you have some mental issues questioning a 16 year old kids character on an anonymous message board over some tweets.

Pretty sure its trolling though.

If my kid, when he's 16, does something like this on twitter, I won't be happy with him.

It's not just that he's a hawk or Fran's kid. It's very bad sportsmanship. Period. If one of our basketball signees did something like this on twitter, I wouldn't be happy about it either and I wouldn't defend him saying it's just dumb teenagers on twitter.

Last year ISU was a 4 seed with 11 losses. OK I'll give you this then, when was the last time a team with 10 losses got a 5 seed from a crappy conference?

The fact that they were AAU teammates makes it that much worse. These are supposed to be guys you care about and are happy for. Instead he decides to rip on his level of competition like a pouty baby.

I think ragging on a 16 year old kid on a message board because he tweets some dumb **** is way more of a red flag. But, that is just my opinion, you don't have to agree with it.

Good for the Big12, they need some deep runs in the NCAA to change the narrative that then Big12 flops in the NCAA. Every year is a new year. I think either Kansas or ISU makes the Elite 8, WVU has a pretty easy path to the Sweet 16, and Baylor will eithe flame out early or make the Elite 8 it seems.

On paper like every year it looks like the Big12 should make multiple deep runs in the NCAA, we will see if this is the year they actually do it.

They do? Notre Dame is a tournament tested team who has made Elite 8 appearances in the last few years and has one of the best players in the tournament. I wouldn't exactly call getting past them in the 2nd round easy.

Great for Iowa and we havent even played yet. The 2 and 3 seed in the Iowa bracket lost last night.

Win our first 2 and we get to play a 6 or a 7 for a trip to MSG.
Vying 69th in country! That will probably get rpi into the 70's

I agree that it was wrong what he did. He apologized, move on. All I'm saying is people sitting on a message board ripping a 16 year old kid for saying some dumb **** on twitter is even more pathetic.
