Section 12 - 30 years at $100

Right. There are usually only a few hundred of those available because almost everyone renews because they are so cheap.

The donations in the $250 sections were raised too. They went from $100 to $250. So no, not everyone will renew.

Have you even checked to see the availability or are you just going to whine about it? :dull:

Maybe "priced out" wasn't the right term to use, as there are other levels/seats available. However, the "who cares" and "buck up" attitude is the wrong one to take.

Daycare is like a mortgage Payment. Baby Formula has the street value of Cocain. On the bright side.....Once the kids enter Public school....I get a raise.

Baby - 180/wk --> = approx $9300
3 year Old: 130/wk --->6700 - (10% discount) = approx $6000
7 year old: 25/wk after school 20 minutes ----> = approx $1300

Total cost for just childcare: Approx = $16,600
I could have some pretty nice seats for that.

I am sure your return on investment will be much better investing in your kids than ISU sports! :smile: I am surprised at how expensive child care has become.

Some of you guys sounded like real ***** in your responses to this unfortunate situation. How you do think that helps this fan make the decision to buy tickets to see a sporting event when fellow fans act like.... Hawkeyes?

$250 may not be a lot of money to some people. But to others it is.

Again, how is this situation "unfortunate"? He/she can donate the same $250 (heck they could lower their donation if they like), buy season tickets for the same price, a parking pass for the same price and still attend games. This isn't about the price, it's about a person being irked about moving from their seat.

What's the right attitude? Can't get my 40 yard line seats anymore so I'll take my ball and go home crying?

Besides, nobody's saying "who cares". It's got to suck to suddenly not be able to afford your seats you've had for 30 years. However there are other options. You just need to accept the rising costs and downgrade your seats.

Two years ago I was able to increase my donation to $250. I'm unable to up my contribution to $500 this year so I dropped my tickets. Am I the only one being priced out of this market?
I'm a little concerned that Jamie does not know his customer base. I was a loyal fan for over 30 years; throw me under the bus because I can't double my donation in 2008?

Section 12 will be empty most of this season; Nebraska fans will fill it October 18th and I doubt they donate anything to the NCC!

Thank you Jamie

Sorry buddy, but that is the nature of the world. The quality of your seats have increased in value. if you can't, or don't want to, pay it, then you'll have to slide over and let someone who can pay it sit there. It's called progress - get used to it.

I get so tired of people jumping on others when it comes to money/ticket issues on this board.

It's a pretty obvious fact that many people are experiencing money problems these days...it's plastered everywhere on the news.

People have real issues happening...some just can't afford the new price increases, which is ok. Sure they're going to be mad and they're venting. But to tell someone they are 'cheap' and to 'buck up', etc. is pretty low.

Be happy that it appears you are still able to enjoy such 'luxury' items such as this. Others need to focus on the most basic needs...a roof over their head, food for their children, etc.

Don't put them down for expressing some frustration. Who wouldn't be frustrated if they found themselves unable to enjoy some of the things they've been accustomed to.

Unfortunately, life moves on whether you're prepared for it not and change happens...you don't have to like it, however.

Because of work scheudule, I can't get to many games. Last year was only able to make it to the Oklahoma game. I bought two 5-yd line seats, row 3 from the field on ebay for a total of $31. I understand the original poster's frustration, but like someone said, there are other options.

I have no idea what you are talking about but I was talking about the $99 endzone seats. There are only a few hundred of those each year because the renewal rate is so high. I would expect it to be the same thing year.

No clue what you are talking about the $100 to $250. :dull:

It's not about the money. It's about being stubborn and not wanting to move seats. He can pay the same or less money and still be at the games, but is irked about having to switch seats.

Actually I'd argue this is an inflationary increase and not a quality increase. You're paying more and getting the same product or even a lower quality product when measured by wins(I can just see ears burning.:wink:)

It is what it is. As I said earlier JP will push prices until demand drops off.

So you're saying if you bought a house 30 years ago for $75,000, you would be opposed to selling it this year for $225,000? Or would you be willing to accept the $150,000 difference?
Everything has gone up in price, but you do not have to pay a higher donation to watch the 'Clones. There are great seats available for ANY donation level.

I wish posters would quit telling others to buy cheap tickets like hillside and then move to better seats. I sit in a $250 section on the isle and get upset when they move in and then call their friends to come join them standing in my way. Our group pays a lot of money for our seats and explect only authorized ticket holders in our area. Tell me where you sit and I'll be sure to send them over to stand in your isle.

Our fans want 2008 winning football on a 1978 lower level football budget. Sorry, but it doesn' work that way. Support the team and move to a $250 section or pay the $500, but by walking away, you've voted with your feet for ISU losing football.

That's a good point, but until ISU polices this, it will continue to happen.

The bottom line to this issue is how much of a priority a person places on the tickets. IF ISU games are really really important to you, you find a way to make it work, it might involve sharing tickets with someone, buying single game tickets, or moving down a section. If money issues are holding you back, absolutely no one has a right to tell you what to do regarding YOUR money. I struggle with some people telling others how they need to step up to the plate and "suck it up" Some people may only be casual fans, which is fine, everyone has a list of priorities or special circumstances which control their current finances. Also with a wide range of ages on here (a very good thing) people are at various stage of affording it. I truly look forward to games each and every fall, it is an great social event with family and friends. However, I do not begrudge anyone for deciding to go to the game or deciding they would rather do something else with their time or money.

Last seasons ticket prices were no where near a "1978 lower level football budget".

First, I find it ridiculous that some people here are telling others how to spend their money.

Second, I'm tired of the "tickets are still cheap" argument...because they aren't cheap. We are mid to upper-mid in the Big 12 for ticket prices. For the product, I would say tickets are expensive and not cheap.

I have no complaints with the ushers, mine has been there as long as I have. If I was down low I could complain and have him take care of it but I don't so I do it myself, always an unpleasantry. Again, if you buy cheap seats, that is what you paid for and that is where you belong. If you really want to get me going, have a hawk or a husker stand in my way.
