perhaps baylor knows something you don't? maybe they have done more then just read the message boards on this subject? i honestly don't know but if what you're saying is true, i seriously doubt he is in such poor academic standing.
Scott Drew could get Coughill into Baylor.
Think he will be a Clone. Heard he would be eligible 2nd semester if everything goes right.

Things seem to be going more right for us lately. Maybe ISU has amnesia.
It's just setting you up for the proverbial gut punch.
I think ISU has a lot to offer White. The new practice facility can compete with those others. Ames is just 2 1/2 hours down the interstate for him which seems to be important. And no other coach in the nation has more NBA GM's on speed dial than coach H, remember. Also Kentucky is absolutley loaded with NBA talent. Would he really want to compete for playing time when he could come to Ames and be the man right away?
Baylor, yes, we definitely have better facilities. Kentucky? We don't TOUCH Rupp Arena.
Yeah, cuz you can give a good endorsement to a kid you kicked off the team.![]()
Our chances always greatly improve when he get a potential athlete on campus. ISU has a beautiful campus (especially this time of year), practice facility, and arena. A face to face visit with Coach Hoiberg and TJ will go a long ways. I like our chances much better today knowing that he is visiting.
And as a parent...if my kid got into the trouble he got into, the last thing I'd want would be to ship him off so far away. Ames offers a way that parents can more easily stay more plugged in.

He is in poor academic standing because he dropped out of school midway through spring semester. He did well gradewise in the fall (around a 3.00 or higher) but has no credits from spring, and from what I can tell, is not enrolled in summer school to attempt to make up the credits. That is where the academic issues arise from.
Make no mistake, Royce is an intelligent kid. He has very little guidance in life and because of that has made awful decisions and is suffereing the consequences from them. He is athletic and charismatic, and those two qualities have gotten him this far. He is just finding that those two characteristics only take you so far when your decision making ability is poor.
From everything I read and understand about the situation, he would have to sit out an entire year before he is eligible. This seems to be due to the transfer rule and due to dropping out of school this spring.
I'll just say this. There's gotta be something more to it (and no, not something 'shady'), because what I've been told, and I truly trust me sources, is that these schools are fighting for him because he'll be able to play at some point next season.
I think Royce is low risk high reward. If he still has issues, he's kicked off the team and we all move on. FH cuts his losses, no biggie. If Royce turns it around and plays like he can, we win games, Royce goes to the NBA, and FH's recruiting/coaching cred skyrockets.
