Funny but true story; I've been called a goat-f***ing farmer by an Iowa doosh while one of his friends was wearing a black and gold ANF shirt. I was born and raised in Iowa City, far from any farm. Not sure where this goon was from.
Zach is your typical Iowa fan. Didn't go there to school, but jumped on the bandwagon as a kid. For people like him, if ISU had just happened to be the best team in the state when they were young, they would be ISU fans now. They have no allegiances to Iowa at all.
If you don't look for trouble, you won't find trouble in IC. Just my experience and 2 cents.
I was also at that game and witnessed what you're talking about. What I thought was more shameful is that Iowa was absolutely destroying Purdue but every time Beathard had a small mistake, the fans were all over him like stink on ****.I went to the Iowa - Purdue game last year by the invitation of a good friend. It is the first and last time I will ever step foot in Kinnick Stadium unless ISU is playing. The Iowa fans threw ice and snowballs at Purdue's cheerleaders. It was so bad the officials had to stop the game and make a public service announcement to cease the barrage. I saw two cheerleaders get injured with a female needing medical assistance off the field. What a national disgrace on television.
well my parents are goat ******* farmers. they milk 300 head twice a day.
3 kids to ISU and 1 Iowa fan.
why do goat farmers get dragged into this every time.............
That's a crock-was there. Complete b.s. Try harderI was also at that game and witnessed what you're talking about. What I thought was more shameful is that Iowa was absolutely destroying Purdue but every time Beathard had a small mistake, the fans were all over him like stink on ****.
Think it was '07 but there was a HUGE fight in the dirt lot across from Riemen Gardens...buncha drunk kids but it happened.I've been going to games in Ames and Iowa City every year for about 10 years.. I've yet to see a single mean thing done to either fan base in either location. Rivalry aside, you're in the state of Iowa.. 99% of people will treat you well (outside of some good natured ribbing) and their will be a 1% (in Ames or Iowa City) that are idiots. Anything else is exaggeration.
