Have you been before? You'll be treated well, excepting a few drunks, which is a sitaution that exists at any away game you travel to.
I guarantee you will not be treated well. Been there for the past 3 games. Worst fans in the nation as a whole. Still some good people of courseHave you been before? You'll be treated well, excepting a few drunks, which is a sitaution that exists at any away game you travel to.
I'm not exactly sure where you tailgate at, or where you hang out at, but you might consider some better suggestions if this is what you find.
But unfortunately this game does seem to bring out low class people on both sides.
Having said this, the worst treatment I received in Ames was in an ISU donor section in 2009. I've always been treated well in the other sections.
Weird deal.
Seems the opposite to me. I've never had any problems around donors in IC, always treated well in the wealthy lots near Kinnick. Its the dooshy Chicago students and Kirkwood students/grads that always seem to give my group a hard time. Unfortunately, those demographics are a large part of Iowa's fan base.

For the Chicago kids, yeah I have. Plus it's pretty easy to distinguish an in-state Iowa student vs a "Chicago" student, even you have to admit this... Same for trashy kwood fans and folks that bought their Iowa shirt from the Wal-Mart across the street from their trailer park. Seems like the Iowa fans with actual ties to the University and the state are usually respectable. What, did you ask them or something?

Oh. I thought maybe you had run into Zach Johnson or something.
I will be there Saturday..... unfortunately. I've been down there twice before for the ISU-Iowa game, and have not been treated well at all.
The first time I had my 10 year old son with me, and some Hok fans would walk up to us and scream obscenities at us..... more than once. My son learned a lot of new words that day. Even I learned a few new ones.
Not excited about going on Saturday either. It's going to be brutal. Especially that late in the day. The ISU-Iowa game should never be played later than 2 pm. It should be at 11 am every chance possible.
I've generally always been a supporter of doing away with this game. I hate it. It's not a healthy rivalry at all.
Zach is your typical Iowa fan. Didn't go there to school, but jumped on the bandwagon as a kid. For people like him, if ISU had just happened to be the best team in the state when they were young, they would be ISU fans now. They have no allegiances to Iowa at all.
I've been to every game in Iowa City since 2004. And traveling to Iowa City is worse than any other experience I've had at away games which includes Norman, Stillwater, Austin, and Tulsa the last three years.
Funny but true story; I've been called a goat-f***ing farmer by an Iowa doosh while one of his friends was wearing a black and gold ANF shirt. I was born and raised in Iowa City, far from any farm. Not sure where this goon was from.
