Because recruiting is not the same thing as the game passing him by, which was your argument, IIRC. It's all the other stuff that has nothing to do with football (social media, etc.) that has passed him by. That kind of stuff is important to today's kids, and Ferentz is more old school. But he has no less of a grasp on the game itself than he did 10 years ago.
My argument was that I think he used to be a good coach and I don't think he is anymore. Things have changed in college FB and so far he has refused to accept that or adapt his style of play. I know a lot of fans that think he's a great coach and that's fine but when people admit he is not a good gameday coach and he hasn't been recruiting well recently it's kind of hard to defend him over the last few seasons...
