Do it, ISpyCy! My wife and I drove over 3 hours from the north burbs of Minneapolis for every game this year. Worth every minute of being in the car and every dollar spent!

It's only 3 hours? Hrmmm... I just moved to northern msp burbs from NYC, so this has been one of my top priorities to investigate. Season tickets here I come! Gonna be awesome!

Disclamer; I usually drive about 10 MPH over speed limit (80 down I-35) and do not have any children. If you drive the speed limit and have kids it could take longer.

I lived in Roseville back in the 90s and I could make it to Ames in 3hrs and 10 minutes (no stops). This was when the speed limit was 65mph and not 70mph. I usually drove around 68-70. If you drive 75mph and do not stop, you can do it in 3hrs.

I go to various parts of MN a lot and it is very easy to be in Ames in 3 hours. I've done a couple Vikings games on Sundays and it is very easy to do in a day. I can leave Story County by 7 in the morning and be home by 7 at night and that includes a little tailgating before the game if it's a noon game.
I think season tickets for ISU if you live in the Twin Cities is very doable. My folks have had football and basketball season tickets for 30 years and they are only 45 minutes closer than what the twin cities are.
