Ridley and Gathers rode the pine alot against ISU. Big plodders like Purdues bigs would've struggled. PUs guards were not good, at least in the tourney. Physical guys that could run the floor like Devin Williams and Baylor's guys other than Rico gave us fits. Purdues guys could not run the floor.I disagree. Find a big front court that we had success with last year? Teams that played physical inside gave us fits. The only one that comes to mind is KU and that's mostly because Niang owned Ellis. I'm not saying we couldn't have beat Purdue but we would have really struggled on the glass against them.
I read this in Walken's voice of course.
Yes, and went a combined 0-4 against them. We were a tough matchup for Purdue, but they were a nightmare matchup for us. We may not have gotten a rebound. I remember cringing when the brackets came out, thinking it was a terrible matchup for us, given how we played down the stretch.
I hear CW is going on vacation next week...
Sorry to be posting all these highlights today, but am home with a sick child. I found this game from last week and am surprised no one has mentioned it. I bet this was the game Phrom was at. Pebblebrook vs. IMG. Collin Sexton vs. Trevon Duvall. All I can say is that I am glad Sexton chose Alabama and not KU. I was surprised to see that Stokes doesn't start for IMG. I think he was the first or second guy off the bench. He looked good and is huge. Here is full game. It looks like he comes in about halfway through the first quarter. Must be nice to have an ESPN top 60 player coming off the bench. He has a good nose for the ball and has great hands. Hope we get him.
Saw he was at the ISU/Zags game, he have v any comments about us after wards?
No but he did clap for us a few times as we were on that big comeback run
Dear Mr. Stokes --
Thanks for your recent attendance of the ISU/Gonzaga game.
As you know, we ultimately came up a little short.
However, two major points about that...
(1.) Were in the championship game in the first place against a very good Gonzaga team. UF was not -- defeated by a larger margin, not in a close game.
(2.) While a very good ISU squad, some of our flaws are easy for any keen basketball eye to see, such as a lack of interior size, depth, and offensive post presence.
You would be a godsend to each and all of those.
You are just what we need.
Additionally, given that Holden, Bowie, and Burton are moving on after this year, the opportunity for immediate playing time is right there. You would get to play with an exciting, up-and-coming wing in Nick Weiler-Babb and, of course, an ace PG recruit, with the same fun-and-gun offense that ISU is known for and a renewed intensity and commitment to defense.
In summary, please come to Ames. The water is the best, too.
Sincerely, ~Sigmapolis

P.S. You can't spell ISU without the initials I.S.Dear Mr. Stokes --
