I don't partake in Mafia, but I will check out the gaming forum on occasion. I think you need to opt into it, IIRC.
Any idea where to find the opt-in? I found the two check boxes for the Politics forum, and another one (ISR maybe?), and both were opted-in. I didn't see anything for a Games forum. :(

Edit: just checked again. Actually, they are "opt-out" checkboxes, and neither is checked. Still nothing about the games forum though.

I seem to remember having to opt-in back with the old site, but you're right, I don't see the option in there anymore. You may need to reach out to the tech crew here to see why you can't see the gaming forum.

Or you could resurrect Klamath and see if she can get on!

Klamath is dead. I killed her. muahaha.

Or should I say "Klamath had an account. HAD."

I THINK it has something to do if you were opted out of the Gaming forum on the previous version, you can't get opted in on this version. *thhhpppbbbt*

You may have to get in touch with Janny to get in.

I've dropped PMs and messages on the Jansters wall. I think he's ignoring me because of my war against the mods. :)

Edit: As mentioned earlier, my previous account DID have access to the gaming forum, because I played mafia on the old forums. That account didn't do well after the transfer to the new forum. I was never able to see anything when logged in as klamath. That's why I have this new account.

Hmmm. And over there in my incognito window, there is klamath. And, funny enough, she can see the gaming forum.

Anyone partaking in the Mafia game? I haz teh sads because I signed up, but for some reason can't open the Gaming forum. I actually didn't even know we had a gaming forum here?

Oh well. @Cybirdy Are you guys getting any softball games in this year? DD has played one game so far, because the weather refuses to cooperate. I think we're up to almost ten (nearly double-digit?) cancelled games now. DD made the JV team and is their #1 pitcher. It sounds like she might get moved up to varsity later in the season.

She didn't play club this spring (too many conflicts with club volleyball) and those tournaments started last weekend. We have a school spring league team for high school that plays before school season starts which is coached by parents (coaches can't have contact with players except pitchers/catchers before practice starts). The first weekend, the weekend before Easter, was snowed out. We are supposed to have a double header on Sunday when forecasted highs are 30 degrees and measurable snow. So no games yet. First school sanctioned practice is May 7th, games start May 22nd. Maybe by then we will be above 40 degrees consistently. . . .

I am so jealous of Iowa's summer softball season. I loved the fact that I could play four sports because our *ball seasons were summer.

Now that I'm in Illinois, it's frustrating as all get out that we try to play in the Spring.

How does it work with travel? I assume IHSA doesn't have a rule against playing travel ball at the same time as school ball? In Illinois, you have to pick- either a spring team, or school ball. No overlap between them.

Daughter blew her shoulder up. Possible torn Labrum per Warme so she is on IR and may give up pitching this year. Could move to catcher but I won’t let those politics come down on her so stay at short or third. Not sure if she will be throwing shot anytime soon. May show up for meets and rest. Right now it’s PT 3x week.

Oy gevalt! Sergio Garcia has put 4 balls in a row into the water on hole #15 at the Masters. He is now lying 12 and is still not on the green. (The record for highest score on 15 is 11, so he will set a new record.)

You can't play any club team while that sport is in season. Club basketball runs fall and spring, club volleyball runs Dec-July, and unfortunately true club softball runs all year pretty much playing a fall season and a spring/summer season. Our softball club has 2 programs--one for girls who play school ball and one for girls who don't. Those who are serious about exposure forego school ball to play club only. The program that caters to HS players runs an exposure program in the fall that travels, then a less intensive spring season that only lasts about 6 weeks and plays more locally from end of March to beginning of May. Sounds like there are quite a few players from Ballard (got runner up in state last summer) who are not playing school ball this year and are focusing on club/exposure. That side of the program will play all the big tournaments through the summer like Colorado Sparkler etc. So in that regard the summer school softball schedule stinks.

That stinks. :( Will she be cleared to play for softball? Not a good year for your kids and injuries.

Saying 6-8 weeks of hard therapy. I asked her what she cared more about, she said softball so I told her she’s 6 weeks from practice so concentrate on therapy.

Not been a good year. Oldest may throw now also. He was messing around with the throwers, picked up a shot, and out threw everybody. So now we may have the smallest thrower in state throwing for us. Almost nobody under 225 does it, oldest is 175 now and working down to 165-170 range.

If you mean the stairwell/East German apartment fight, that was a pretty gritty all out street brawl. In the after scenes our heroine truly looked like she had been in a real fight. Most TV/movie fights the aftermath is maybe a cut lip.

I totally dug the music used throughout the movie.
I just watched a couple of those on youtube. Looks like I'll have to watch the movie. Kind of a Theron fan anyway.

Sounds like my golf game.

I think the majority of our girl throwers are also softball players. They tried to recruit ours but there is no way she wants to even think about track. And she would probably be on the small side for girl throwers, too.

My BIL threw in college, used to have some school records where he went. Now he officiates for local NCAA indoor meets. He also played O line in football, he is a big guy.

These guys are visiting Z's preschool tomorrow to put on a concert:

Not sure I approve of the pro-Nebraska propaganda in that video. If Z's original teacher wasn't on maternity leave, I think I'd send her a "complaint."
A few years ago my sister enlisted me to send stuff about Nebraska to a teacher she knows in Virginia, This teacher was trying to get someone from every state to send something. Someone instantly brought up the Stringbean videos. I looked at one and said I think the kids are too old for this junk. I ended up driving across the state taking pictures of different things like the Pony Express station, the Sod House museum, Chimney Rock, Carhenge etc etc.
