This is one of the reasons I encourage my kids to not go out for track. It seems like weather during track meets is more often cold and windy than nice and sunny.
I always loved it when we were running in cold, wind, rain, snow or any other ****** weather for track or cross country. Not so much because I liked running in that, but rather I knew it was bugging many of the competitors and I thought it gave me a mental edge over them.
It's basically the corner of 120th and Miracle Hills in Omaha. That pole has been leaning for a while and in the last couple of weeks really started moving. It's gonna fall some day soon and if it hits a car or cars I hope they sue the pants off the city for letting it sit like that. They obviously know about it, hence the support cone.
I was going to run the Goldy's Run 5k this coming Sunday with our alumni group but it's going to be in the teens that morning and maybe even snowing. Screw that ****. I'll pick up another race when it gets a little warmer.
It amazed me sometimes how guys who just ate it up when they played football in cold or rain on a muddy field would turn into total pansies when you got the pads and helmet off of them and they had to run a little 100 or 200 in a little rain or cold on a track.
Been about 80 here in New Orleans. Home got about 10 inches of snow. I’m not upset I’m not home.

Speaker at the NHS ceremony said she was incharge of bud light marketing. Aka........the dilly dilly crap (what I thought not what she said) I disliked her immediately. From ISU though.

Weird start to the library tonight.
Got an e-mail that I had a new roommate in this ol' study room. Cool. I figured I'd set up for him at the end of the night, and sent a reply like that.
Found out he was coming immediately, so I jumped up (almost literally), set up his area, ate really quickly and hid the rest of dinner just in case this worker is a stickler for the rules.
Met the guy. Good guy. We'll probably share nicely together as we both race towards June completions. Great way to start the night behind, but tonight's stuff is easy stuff I've been waiting for for quite a while.

I watched the movie "Atomic Blonde" last night. Not the greatest but there is one fight scene that was so well done. Acting, editing, choreography and the camera work were all on target.
If you mean the stairwell/East German apartment fight, that was a pretty gritty all out street brawl. In the after scenes our heroine truly looked like she had been in a real fight. Most TV/movie fights the aftermath is maybe a cut lip.
I totally dug the music used throughout the movie.
Anyone partaking in the Mafia game? I haz teh sads because I signed up, but for some reason can't open the Gaming forum. I actually didn't even know we had a gaming forum here?
Oh well. @Cybirdy Are you guys getting any softball games in this year? DD has played one game so far, because the weather refuses to cooperate. I think we're up to almost ten (nearly double-digit?) cancelled games now. DD made the JV team and is their #1 pitcher. It sounds like she might get moved up to varsity later in the season.
