My birthday yesterday was pretty fun. I think the most fun though was setting up a candle and Z wanted to blow it out. She sang Happy birthday each time. The candle was almost new, but we melted it into a tiny stub.

happy belated birthday!

Twin Cities Peeps hope you and your houses are all ok sounds like it got crazy for a while up there. Done with work for the day Early start paid off today!

Follow up statement to baptism party. Modelos go down pretty darn smooth it's a good beer. Latinas from their teens to 50's all know how to rock skin tight skirts/dresses.

question for picture-taking types.

First, is there a site I can load our trip pics to in order to sort through them? Google photos compresses them and doesn't have a great way for being able to delete or move photos as you are looking at them. Wasn't sure what the "free" limits would be for something like flickr or printing sites like adoramapix. I *can* do this on my computer but was looking for something I could do away from my laptop as well.

Second, DH's camera is nice, but I'd like to print some larger pics for hanging - like maybe some that are like two feet wide and the quality probably isn't high enough fo that. So he took a series of burst shots of pretty panoramas and thought maybe there was a way to stitch them back together. Anyone know of something like that?

Otherwise, we can just do that thing where they split the picture across three canvases or something.

those do look like some nasty storms north!

now to head out to finish flower stuff before it gets crazy roasty hot.

It's already humid hot here. The Field of Dreams is also humid and hot. Erik's team has the last leg it looks like. They're waiting for their teammates to reach them.

I'm sure WDSM would like to know the subject of the photos before he gives advice.

CG would those canvas print people that you see on Groupon all the time be the service your looking for, for your 2nd paragraph? Also Cyclones 2015 had some big prints made of pictures he took might be worth dropping him a PM.

Some cameras have a setting for taking photos with the intent to stitch them together into a panoramic. With the advances in software there has to be something out there that can recognize pixel patterns to know where to overlap.
Edit: I guess there is an add on to gimp that can do it.

I believe that is the setting he used, yes.

It's always funny when they hire a new young lady bartender. The same old guys always fall over themselves trying to get their attention.

If he used a setting on his camera (Canon?) Then there should have been software that came with the camera that would do that.

yes, Canon camera. Just arrived a week or so before we left so hadn't had a lot of time to explore it. I do believe there was some software we were supposed to install so we could move pics over wi-fi, I'll have to see if it mentions this as well, that would be fantastic. Thank you!

And looks like Flickr gives 100GB free space. That should be enough to load everything initially so I can start sorting through and delete the stuff we don't care about.

I was in Duluth this weekend and came back to find a curve on our street filled with hail. That was after 2:00. The storm hit about 8:30. Neighbors say that there was 10-12 inches of hail on that curve after the storm and a truck actually got stuck in it. Our yard looked like fall it was so full of leaves. A lot of hail still hanging on in the grass as well. Some hail damage but could have been much worse. First glance at roof looks promising but there is some siding damage. Good news is kids' trampoline didn't get airborne. The screw in dog chain anchors did their job.

Neighbor and I filled his trailer to overflowing with leaves and small branches and my yard isn't quite done. A lot of clean up.

Thankful because it could have been much worse. Thanks to everyone who was concerned about us Nortlanders.

that is nuts! Another MN FB friend posted that her husband texted her at church to ask "what color house she wanted" because their siding was pretty well damaged. And the kids were going sledding in the hail.

Glad your damage sounds manageable.
