My summer was spent in junior high and high school with summer band. High school we had about a week off, if that, before our first practice, and that was to get 8th graders/freshmen up to speed to march three 4th of July parades. Another 2.5 - 3 weeks off, then another week of practice, then a week of band camp about a 4.5 hour drive away. I really didn't know what to do with myself the summer after graduating high school.
My wife used to work banquets at a golf club. She once dumped green beans on a governor's shoes and spilled a beer on former Vikings QB Tommy Kramer.Went to prom three times. Sophomore year was picked to be a prom server by the junior class. Big honor, dumped a dinner plate on a history teacher.
If I remember correctly Tommy was probably more upset over the wasted beer.
The 5th grade girl went on a girls in science field trip on Saturday. One of the units was on forensic science. Afterwards, she had 2 friends that went come over. At one point they came in the house and asked, "Can we get an old blanket to cover up the dead body in our yard?"
Later, we went out on the front porch. Her 2 friends were there but she wasn't. We asked them where she was. The reply was, "She's in the backyard setting up the crime scene."

Evidently, he was very nice about it. She did say that he more than likely wouldn't remember it the next day.
The governor she spilled beans on was not Mr. Ventura but she did work at a couple of banquets he attended. She's not a big fan of Jesse.
Our next door neighbor was on the Kansas side of KC for a soccer tourney this weekend. Just thought you'd like to know.
Tell them thanks a lot. That tournament push my daughter's league game to the crappy grass fields in Olathe. Their groundskeeper is Mother Nature.
That soccer complex is pretty impressive. Most of our games are there. They are building another large field turf complex on the Missouri side. There is a ridiculous amount of money in youth soccer down here.
I'll be sure to let them know that you're not happy. They also texted me that it wasn't very exciting to drive through Iowa and that I should jazz up the home state a bit. I gave them the standard response that it's about the kind and beautiful people and it's better than Nebraska.
6 voice mails from the weekend, five new calls, about a dozen emails and three in-person visits. And it's not even 9.00am yet.

It was a crazy night. I didn't even go into the dance lol. I got pretty lucky I got have easily gotten arrested, unfortunately one of my friends wasn't so lucky.
