It's weird to actually think about technological advancement. Like, in the 1600's here, as they sat in their huts, they would have never imagined a machine that would create cold air out of nothing to cool them off. Meanwhile I'm sitting here ******** because the air conditioner isn't cold enough to keep me from pitting out in the Hawaiian heat.

Actually, that's probably what impresses me more (though the idea of them seeing a phone or internet is cool) thinking about how they did what they did with what they had. England has giant, beautiful stone churches that are twice as old as this country. The Easter Island statues, explorers successfully navigating oceans by the constellations........it's all interesting to me to think about.
Heck, I remember when I was younger and GPS was coming out - I thought that would just be impossible, it would have to know every street and if you were turning.....it sounded so futuristic to me as a kid.
