Interesting article about drifters being the new hot rodders, but I think this pulled paragraph hits it spot on with younger people and cars:

Growing up in the ‘90s, there was nothing I could find less interesting that hot rods. All I ever saw of them were candy coat show queens, parked out on some grass lawn in Sacramento, polished and adored by some fat old man with a grey beard and a long winded story to tell. They were not of my generation. They did not appeal to me. They were not fast, they were not loud, they were not interesting or new. Everything I saw of hot rods was stuffy and old and stale.

While I've gone to Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, I can't say as I'd ever buy something there, at least not on Friday night or Saturday when it's one buffed up numbers matching late 60's muscle car selling for the price of a fully optioned Escalade. I'd be more inclined to look at a 1970 VW Squareback...just because you don't see them. I would want something you can **** around with, not something to be 'collected' and stored away.

Good weather for it at least. We did the barn a couple times. Ugh, dodging the wasps was the worst. At least it was literally the broad side of the barn, trim work isn't much fun
