On these past beautiful weather days down here in SE IA, I would have loved to open my doors and let some fresh air in. But, our landlord has decided to have the trees between our two apartment buildings cut down. This brings chainsaw noise, diesel engine noise, and limbs/trunk pieces that fall and shake the entire place.
I was in CR last summer because my sister had a basketball tournament with her school team. It was at Cornell College. The hotel we were at was neat the Lindale Mall. One night all the players and parents go down the bar area. We had ordered pizza I think. Of course, I go to the bar. It was $10 unlimited Bud Light night. I sit down and there is a couple, a couple seats down from me. They're about in their early 50's maybe. They noticed my ISU shirt, so we started talking. Turns out the woman works in the Agronomy hall office, my major was meteorology. I knew her name once she told me. I told them that I work for a tree service, and they wanted me to come all the way from Wisconsin to trim some trees for them. I said sure, no problem.
Then we were talking about my sister playing basketball. They asked where she was playing. I thought they were joking when they said they would come watch because they were wasted. I let them know the time. Sure enough they showed up. My sister's team played their best game of the tournament, but ended up losing. I may have shared this before, but Sara's post reminded me of it.

That's damned cheap considering it would cost me over a thousand dollars to fly back to Iowa over thanksgiving, and that's staying in country.
Probably close to the same on distance too.
Just make sure American is using the right plane to make the trip to/from Hawaii.
I read about that.
I prefer Delta, if I have my pick. Though southwest isn't the worst either.
