WVU is fouled asuch as any team in the conference, we are last by a wide margin. An aggressive driving team will almost always get more fouls than a team that shoots fading midrange jump shots. That discrepancy could be expected going in.
Prohm needs to get a technical foul.

They weren't the worst ever but they were far from good tonight. Lots of missed travels and the typical crap they get away with.
2nd foul on WV with 12 min left in 2nd half. Hard to believe.

The refs should have called a T on Prohm for calling a timeout after a made basket by us to stop a WVU flurry. The players probably would have responded better and we would have had a chance.

I question your basketball accumen if you base officiating analysis on foul counts.
I question both of you for using acumen in this thread.
I rewound and slo-mo'ed several calls that I thought were questionable. With the exception of a blocked shot on Adrian, in retrospect they looked like good calls. What ticked me off was that Adrian looked like he was pushing off for some of his offensive rebounds, but never got called for it.

There was a stretch early in the second half where they seemed to make a bunch of calls right in a row against us on defense. I thought they could have done that just about any time against WV, but didn't. Prohm needs to do more to hold the refs accountable at times like that. He doesn't need to turn into Mad Fran, but he needs to get into the ref's ear more.
I was fully expecting WV to come in and play their usual "foul on every possession" game but they didn't do that. They played decent, hard nosed defense. Other than a couple of drives to the basket where they led with a forearm and some subtle pushes in the back on rebounds, I thought they played a clean game. We really need to get some players that embrace that style of play (like Dustin Hogue and Deandre Kane) and do it ourselves.
I didn't really have a problem with many of the shots. They just wouldn't fall last night. WVU, on the other hand banked three threes in a row in at one point in the game. It just wasn't ISU's night.
They only got one more free-throw than we did. We got 4 more fouls called that they did. While I agree that is questionable, it is not enough to change a game. It was much worse last year. It is pretty obvious, though I haven't seen the game yet, we lost due to poor basketball playing, particularly defense, and poor shot selection. I think the fact that Matt Thomas didn't shoot much in the second half is telling. You need to get shots for the hot hand.
