Predict who starts at QB.

I sure would like to see our receivers help the QB more. We hear lots about their bad throws, but they don't get much help a lot of the time. Horne is the only one who looked good last week. Everybody else needs to do much more to get in position to make catches and fight for the ball . . . not just put their hands out as if asking for the ball to be thrown perfectly.

Debates about each QB's performances have included criticism about the receivers (especially when the argument has involved statistical analysis) and I think it has validity.

I don't know if I've seen a more extreme case of that (in both ways) with either SJ or JB than I did last week.

Barnett threw some awful passes. He also had several that were on the money, or far from uncatchable — but dropped.

Sometimes, both of those things happened on the same series. (Which, in many cases, involved no more than 3 plays).

I see no reason to even bother with Jantz anymore. Clearly we can't win in the Big 12 with him.

Gotta be either JB or Sam.

Why would we not ply the best QB? We still have a legit chance of being bowl eligible. You don't give up on your best QB and build for the future in college football at this point.

Clearly you didn't even read past the first sentence of my post. I'm playin for now, & my point is Jantz has never won a single game against B12 competition. He's never even come within 10 points of a B12 victory. Let that sink in. And your tellin me I'm not interested in the present? Get real.

It won't matter who is the QB. The biggest problem is being overlooked. The offensive line is THE problem. We need our line to maintain their athleticism but put on an additional forty pounds of muscle. Our guys are undersized in this league. They can't run the ball, barely provide any protection during a passing situation. Our QBs have great practices but look terrible during games. The outcome is the same regardless of who is under center. These are all symptoms of a poor offensive line. Fix the line and then see what else needs tweaked.

Any time you can point to multiple things wrong in an organization, the problem is with management. Nuf said.

I agree with this. Start with JB, if we fall behind switch to Steele. Give Steele a series or 2 earlier if the situation dictates.

I believe, base off of the last game that Jantz Steele will start and if he don't perform well Richardson will come in.

It doesn't matter too much who starts we will most likely lose none the less. We know that SJ & JB at the helm don't lead to much. So if either one of them starts we will lose. The wild card (and only hope imo) is SR because we don't have a good gage of what he can do in game situations. Lastly, when you don't have the same QB week in and week out how can you expect the offense to perform well. They are never consistently practicing with the same same group.

I'd say go with Jared Barnett for this game. If he struggles again, and we lose again, then I'd say it's time to see what Sam Richardson can do. I mean we have nothing to lose and plenty to gain. Look at Texas A&M with Johnny Manziel or Oklahoma State with Wes Lunt and J.W. Walsh. Anything's possible with these young QBs.

Who cares about last year? Jantz has one Big12 loss this year, to a 6-1 Tech team that also shut down Geno Smith who might be the top draft pick this year. Barnett has two losses this year.

I think you are correct... so you will look really smart tomorrow and we will all enjoy a great win and a "new" start. I am so happy now.

Me too. The best thing about ISU is that every new starting QB means that we get that new hope that our team will take that next step. haha

It was a joke. JB is trying to be a run QB with no success. Perhaps it is play calling but it looks more like panic and desperation to me. Word I get is Richardson has been doing well in practice. I would bet my tailgating tent spot that Richardson plays Saturday.

So, where is this tailgating spot, and how big is it? I need to figure out if it will fit my 96 camry and weber grill. Hopefully the wheels on the weber hold up on the 2 hour drive.
