Possible Transfer

Personally I'm getting tired of always looking at transfers for the Cyclones. I think we need stability now. Good high school guys and sprinkle in an occasional junior college player when needed.

I agree...I'm tired of the player sitting out a year after the transfer, being hyped up like crazy and only playing one season as a Cyclone. I'd much rather have good hs players coming in and be around longer unless they go pro early

He would have three years though, I think we need to be done with one year players as well unless they are graduates and come here to play a year right away.

So let me get this straight, he is an undersized big man that can shoot the 3 and is weak on defense. I'm sure he does want to come to ISU after watching us play. Sounds like a match made in heaven to me.

I don't know about you, but I don't classify the 2 as a big man.

Yes, three years isn't enough playing time.

Yes, 1 to sit followed by 3 to play is a way better proposition than 1 & 1, IMO. The only better scenario is if you get a player who's graduated and can play immediately, IMO.

Just saying if fred wants him we should. We dont know the answer to that, so we should watch what we say on here. This is no different than tribune, though this thread in my opinion is a lot more negative. Tone matters, offer your opinion without knocking the kid. He is obviously a good player playing as a true freshman in the big 10 with decent stats., whether he is best we can get is up to fred and is senseless to speculate.

Starting in the B1G doesn't make you good if its only because you're on a bad team. He barely would play if he was on our team this year.

Yeah, missed the posts saying he's a SG. Well, seems like we will be crowded at that position based on who is being recruited, but whatever. If he wants to come here and Fred wants him sounds good to me. Fred's opinion>>>>than mine. Plus, I won't get fired if the program goes in the tank.

Look at all of these internet evaluators. With all of this ability to spot talent, I'm shocked that the majority of you work in cubicles.

People who say "I trust Fred" or mock people who have an opinion are far more obnoxious than either of those things. No **** people on here aren't D1 coaches but that doesn't mean D1 coaches have a monopoly on sports knowledge.

Given his skill set, he could be 2nd guy off the bench most nights behind McGee.
Fred likes the 3 ball, and this guy is 6-7 and shoots a good percentage.

Fred has said its about players fitting the system..

Fixed it for you. I can understand people who give an opinion getting annoyed at the whole "you aren't a coach" argument. But someone saying "I trust the coaches" is perfectly legitimate, especially if they have never even seen the kid play.

Kid is playing as a freshmen in arguably the strongest basketball conference in the country. He shoots 39% from the 3 point line and is 6-7. Averages about 15 minutes a game.

Aside from Niang, none of our freshmen are even sniffing that kind of playing time.

I would take him for the simple fact the kid has been getting significant playing time his freshmen year against some of the top teams in the country. So unless you got a bunch 4 and 5 star kids locked up for a 2014 scholly, right now 1 4 star commit, this would be a be good option.

He's playing out of necessity. He's one of 4 kids on the bench right now, and two of them are walk ons. Also, when the rest of your team is terrible, someone has to score.

There's an assumption that we all trust Fred as fanatics. It doesn't add **** to the conversation to parrot that.
