Sounding like central Iowa will only get around 4-6 inches. The hype train has derailed!

What forecast are you seeing? Even weather.com who is notoriously conservative about snowfall totals is predicting 5 to 8 inches Monday night, with an additional 3 to 5 inches on Tuesday.

Cold I think is the biggest factor as it seems like the qpf is there between all various models...just the amount of cold on the south side.

I assume moving forward that a colder solution would push the snow amounts up on the south side

Obviously still early, what are the chances the storm tracks more south? I see Ed Wilson announced that the blizzard watch in Des Moines has been canceled.

I'm flying through Denver tomorrow mid-morning. What are the chances of my flight being cancelled?

I think SE Iowa got the brunt of the last two big 12+ inch snows; last year and the year before. Both on or around Feb 2.

Boy if we got two big 12+ inch snow storms south of Iowa city I sure missed them. I remember a few 5-6 inch storms but can't recall a 12+ inch storm since 2010.

To be fair, the two big storms this year have both been centered on northern Iowa. That said, SE Iowa does average less snow than points to the north and west.
