Wow. So they dont have to do **** until late November. Of course they don't.

I've seen some of the rants from this *******. He's a combination of the most ridiculous of homers with irrational mood swings and a childlike sense of reality. Guy just flies off the handle the second someone disagrees. It's fantastic really.

Oops! One very important thing I forgot to insert in my last post is in the Big 12 vs Big 10 football matchups last week end, the Big 12 prevailed 3 wins to none for the Big 10. That speaks volumes I think.

Thank you. I remember when I was a kid my dad and I would go to these events when the UI coaches would go around the state and have these dinners and speak. Fry used to always say that the ISU game was THE most important game for the reasons you mentioned. He said the most important thing he could do was dominate in-state recruiting and build the fan base by making every kid that grows up in the state to want to play for Iowa. So yes, McCarney carried that approach as well.

Mac seems to still think that way. He had a tweet the other day saying his #1 priority is keeping Texas High School talent at home

Northwestern has never had a more talented football team than Iowa either, just ask any Hawk fan. Anytime Northwestern beats Iowa, it's always because it's their Super Bowl too and that Northwestern just gets fired up a lot more to play Iowa.

Rarely when Iowa loses is it because they just got beat by the better team. A lot of teams have played a lot of Super Bowls against Iowa lately it seems.

"The Iowa Hawkeyes - a season of Super Bowls" on the next 30 for 30.

And the beginning:

Defcon 5, Defcon 5!

What is hilarious, ISU, West Virginia, and TCU (all with losing records last year) beat three Big Ten bowl teams from a year ago...... oooh the big bad Big 10

Barely sneaking by a so-so FCS team and a so-so MAC team makes Iowa the better team. Lucky for them they get 4 non-con games and play in the most over rated conference in the history of college football.

ISU would make a bowl game every year in that crap conference. Iowa would not make bowl games if they were in the Big 12. It's as simple as that.

Not only that, but this year, they're attacking the soft underbelly of that fat calf.

On the LOL thread they kept posting the 16 years of the KF era win/loss rcords with Iowa State. Since it was a few pages back and no one has posted there in the last few hours I decided to post my chart here. I took their information and added the score of the ISU/Iowa games of KF and Iowa vs ISU since 1998.

If Ferentz first year at Iowa was in 1998 like the chart that was previously posted Iowa State's record is

5-4 in Iowa City and 5-3 in Ames, but I thought this was just coach Ferentz 16th year?

Yeah, '98 was the last season of raisinface, according to the wikipedia, and according to cyclones.com, that game was in IC, so the records you post above would be 4-4 in IC, and 5-3 in Ames.

Thanks, that's what I thought. The Cyclones did take the first four games of the Ferentz era instead of 5, but ISU still has an even record in Iowa City. No wonder the Hawk fans are so disgruntled after another home loss to the Cyclones.

It's his schtick. He does it for reaction and gets a kick out of it when people notice what he posts. I guarantee he's laughing about his notoriety right now. In a weak moment years ago, he admitted as much and asked the board if they understood this. Anyone who takes him seriously doesn't know the Doug character or Harlan or one of his other board aliases.

The Super Bowl thing is hilarious, they just can't come up with any other reason that they would lose. You know, maybe like:
Coaching
Talent
Heart
Effort
Play Calling
Time Management

The Super Bowl, Involves all of that.

I honestly think they'll go 5-7. Lose @Pitt, @Maryland, Northwestern, @Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. NW and Minny are close calls though. They may very well drop another.

Iowa will beat Minn, they always do and minn is arguably the worst throwing team in all of fball, their qb is horrendous. Iowa will beat NW at home that team is a complete disaster right now. I think Iowa will be 5-5 entering their final two games. Illinois is really bad.

Rarely if ever does an Iowa fan say how the other team beat them - no, the consistently tell you how they lost it and how in reality it shouldn't count as a loss because "if it weren't for those ___ plays, they would have won it"

Did anyone notice the rest of the Big 10 teams had a brutal showing in last week end's games. I wonder what the other Big 10 teams are saying is their lack of success.

http://www.bigten.org/sports/m-footbl/sched/big10-m-footbl-sched.html
3-6 in non conference Big 10 games last week end + 1-1 in Big 10 in one conference matchup, of course they were assured of at least one win in that game, ha!

http://www.big12sports.com/SportSelect.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=10410&SPID=13139&SPSID=106580

6-3 in non conference Big 12 games last week end with no conference games played

Think the BIG needs smaller opponents like Blue Moon State and Fat Tire Republic.

I'd like to see them explain this gem:

Iowa is 2-2 in their last 4 games with Minnesota. I've got a prediction... make it 2-3.
