Peak Iowa Fan

Yeah - the B1G really screwed the pooch by bringing in all these teams. No one can really argue a B1G team deserves in the playoffs unless for some reason the other 4 conferences implode. At this point I'd put in a second SEC team over a B1G team

5-7, possibly 6-6. Not sure about the Illinois road game.

If you are arguing that your team is better because they have better talent, even though they lost, then you are basically saying your team is lazy.

Iowa fans are forever stuck in the 15 year streak. They are the better team no matter what. They will always have some excuse like "Superbowl", "Injuries", "Refs", "KF's conservative offense", "Iowa is better at the end of the year". Anything to not admit that they just got ******* beat! Seriously you turds. It happens.

I have to admit that while I still hear it, I don't hear it nearly as much as I did before this:

I checked out the replay of the FB chat session on the Rag - very interesting to see that meltdown in writing.
The are right that we are not a very good team but we are a better team than EIU and also much better coached.

As much as I'd love to see that, If Iowa is that bad then we'll be lucky to win more than one game the rest of the season. Given their schedule, if Iowa isn't winning at least 8 games then we aren't winning more than 2.

I wouldn't go that far. Remember what both teams did in 2012? Not saying we win 6, but also not ruling out that we only win 2-3.

Got to love the logic of some Hawk fans. To them:

Up until the Iowa game, Rhoads is a idiotic, hapless coach. For the Iowa game, however, Rhoads' football fairy god-coach turns him into a Vince Lombardi incarnate which allows him to outcoach a $4 million super coach whose teams get better as the season progresses. Then, after the Iowa game, Rhoads turns back into a poor, raggedy shadow of a football coach.

Iowa's Big Ten Rank in Learfield Standings by year starting in '93 when Penn State joined:
94 - 7th
95 - 5th
96 - 6th
97 - 6th
98 - 6th
99 - 10th
00 - 8th
01 - 9th
02 - 10th
03 - 10th
04 - 10th
05 - 9th
06 - 11th
07 - 9th
08 - 11th
09 - 10th
10 - 11th
11 - 9th
12 - 12th (Nebraska joins)
13 - 12th

Must be the coaches in a bunch of sports. Barta is really doing a bang up job.

I honestly think they'll go 5-7. Lose @Pitt, @Maryland, Northwestern, @Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. NW and Minny are close calls though. They may very well drop another.
