Paul Shirley Interview

What a bunch of whiny babies on this thread. Bunch of people whining about Paul whining. Then I whined about that.

Thanks for getting Paul on--loved him as a player and like his entertainment value, thanks! Just can't believe this is the same guy that sat through engineering classes without saying a thing.

Chris and I just completed an hour long interview with Paul Shirley. If you are an Iowa State fan, this is a must-listen to podcast. Paul is extremely honest and will shed some light on things you might have never heard about.

For those out there that are NOT fans of the Fawcast, this will be the week to make an exception and give it a listen!

It will be posted shortly.
I thought it was one of the better podcasts that you guys have done. Shirley just happens to be more honest than most when you put a mic or pen in front of him. His discussions on the team chemistry and Coach E def shed some light on what was going on. I def don't agree with some things Paul has said in the past but respect his opinions. I doubt we would all agree with a ton of former Cyclones players on their opinions on world events or even ISU subjects. Good interview!

Too bad he couldn't just let his play do his talking then. I only remember him as a whiny douchebag.
Hey a lot of people talk about sports and have never played even anywhere near the professional level....ohh yeah like most of us this forum.

Don’t know if you argument even makes much sense. He has unique perspective and is one of the few that is as candid.

Interesting about the team bickering at each other, etc. on approach of the NCAA tourney.

Not surprising.

I'd like to be a fly on the wall if/when Paul and Jamal meet some time.

Never realized it until this podcast, but charter and paul have very similar mannerisms. Was thinking that and CW made a similar observation toward the end.

Apparently Charter's wife has a type.

So Shirley basically confirmed that HInrich and Collison were ISU bound, then Floyd left. Interesting ripple effect Phil Jackson retiring had on ISU basketball.
