Outcoached in Every Way

I had a great time watching this team play today. I am sad we lost but was entertained the whole time. Save your tears and outcry for moments that are deserving of it. Like last week or many games to come.

Last week? We all know that Oklahoma destroys us in that game more often than not. That's a Cyclone tradition.
This was a great game sullied by very poor coaching at the end.

And if you told ISU fans that the Cyclones would have a 24-7 lead at one point, and would be up by 10 points in the fourth quarter, and still lose - none of them would be surprised. And that's a problem.

Yea... and that is the same exact problem we have had since 1990... no matter who is coaching. What is your point again?

One ref called first down after the Epps catch. ISU went quick. Pretty sure ISU thought they had a first down.

This is exactly what I thought. I see Lanning throwing next play and I thought it was first down. But that is an error then on the coaches.

Honestly.......I am an old man, and know very little about football offense, but if the only game I had ever watched was today's game....I think I could have done a better job of play-calling there at the end just based on what I had seen in the first 3 quarters.

Embarrassing second half from our coaches. Not our players, but our coaches.

Totally dominated by Mike Gundy and his staff.

I'm sad that our players are stuck with these guys wearing the headsets. This was a game that our players put themselves in a position to win in the first half, and our coaches did nothing to help them in the second.

Ready for JP to clean house and give us a chance again.

For those of us that are football illiterate, can you give some specific examples of how we were out coached in the second half?

They can't give you those facts. I've listed many facts where execution wasn't there. None were refuted nor noted.

Facts are too tough for the normal trolls.

The funny part about this post is that the OP thinks the game plan to begin the game had nothing to do with the coaches.

Did we get out-coached in the second half? Yes especially on defense. But there was a whole lot of dropped passes and don't get me started on our secondary.

Speak for yourself. 9-26 is inexcusable for years 5, 6, and 7.
I actually totally agree with this point but to hold this game up as a shining example of the coaching staff's ineptitude is disingenuous and borderline absurd.

CPR said they thought they picked up first down, knew it was third down, and called the play thinking the spot would be reviewed and they would get the first down.

Man, if only we had a timeout there...

The definition of an armchair quarterback.

If this is true it is absolutely inexcusable.

You blamed the officials you dip **** in your first post. Now it's execution? Jfc.
