Outcoached in Every Way

Bad play calling on the key drive and didn't execute as well in the second half. I'll give on those points. Beyond that, the team and coaches put themselves in a position to win. I'm disappointed they didn't and with how it went down, but I think it's remarkably childish to be ****** off.

OK. Offensive staff earned a lot of criticism for that crucial drive (the one where we had timeouts).
There's absolutely no reason to do anything but criticize them for that playcalling debacle.
One ref called first down after the Epps catch. ISU went quick. Pretty sure ISU thought they had a first down.

Facts. ISU team overmatched in almost every way

Consider that statement for a minute...why should ISU be overmatched in almost every way in Rhoads' 7th year?

Blame only the staff if you want

Who else should be blamed for ISU being overmatched in almost every way? The game plan was good, but as usual, there was a complete lack of adjustments in the second half, and what could have been a nice victory for the program turns into just another loss.

But, cheer up! Rhoads will likely be back next year, so we can watch it all over again...

Waiting to hear on the facts from the whiners. I mean, no way they could blame the dirt passes or poor tackling. It was ONLY coaching, right?

troll on

Here's some more facts: 8-26 since 2013. But every coach is allowed to have terrible years 5, 6, and 7, amirite?

Then ******* coach better. Jesus ******, it's not that hard. When is the last time CPR has developed a QB? Never.

Same sniveling loser whiners as usual. You love this ****. Some of you nancies wanted ISU to lose so you could have something to ***** about. I pity you.

Oh **** off. I'm tired of your ****. Win or lose you just have to find a reason to insult someone don't you? This would be a much better place if you got a perma ban throw your way

He's making the classic McDermott years argument. Good game plan, fantastic first half, "players fail to execute" in the second half. Somehow, coaching plays no role in the 2nd half.

Pretty sure 99% of ISU fans would have been surprised if they were told we would keep it a 4 point game by the end. Haters gonna hate

Totally. TBH, I'm guessing there are just a lot of people who are drunk and upset about the outcome.

ISU 3 wins. OSU undefeated. But yeah. Let's rip on the staff for having a shot in the final minutes. Trolls.

Once again a moronic comment...drunk more than likely...stop using their record or their ranking to defend a loss. For the love of all that's holy...I've heard better comments from Bode

How many passes did Lanning complete in the second half? How many wide open guys were missed? Including first down on the 2nd to last possession.

Facts are players had a shot to win and didn't execute. OSU adjusted to take away run. ISU had guys open and didn't execute.

I agree we didn't make plays. We were still out coached in the 2nd half. Coaching is not the only reason we lost, but to ignore it is foolish.

And if you told ISU fans that the Cyclones would have a 24-7 lead at one point, and would be up by 10 points in the fourth quarter, and still lose - none of them would be surprised. And that's a problem.

So if ISU wins this game and no one is ******** about 9-25. That's my factual point. Ripping on staff after this game is just stupid.

I personally hate this ****, watching a talented team be led by morons who have d backs playing 8 yards off on 3 and 2 and then **** a 3 and 1 down their legs isn't much fun. Continue to argue for CPR though if you do.

The defense was called solidly pretty much throughout the game. I just don't understand why, after half you start throwing the ball more. Wouldn't you want to run as much clock as possible with the lead? Didn't the ISU running game pound OSU in the first half? That's where I think we made the biggest mistake...that and the last third and fourth downs...

Facts. ISU team overmatched in almost every way comes in with great plan to win. Just didn't execute. So many missed tackles and bad passes.

Blame only the staff if you want. But that's your head in the sand.
That doesn't excuse Wally for his 3rd down play calling. Was begging for him to play tight press coverage and bring the blitz on 3rd and long to force quick throw to player that is covered and brought down quick.
