OU would roll the hawkeyes

Iowa advanced to the round of 32 in basketball. The top 25 get rated. The two are not in the same category unless ISU football was close to being rated recently?

Football thread. But if you want to talk basketball rankings...

Iowa State finished last season ranked 9th in the AP poll, 19th in the coach's poll. They've been ranked for a school record 38 consecutive polls, most of which was a spent ranking in the top 15.

Your friend Cytwins brought up basketball. I'm happy to stick with football.

Cytwins - no more comparing 64.7% winning basketball teams to 30% football teams. We're sticking to football in the football thread. Any questions, please see JohnnyFive.

Before we get back on the thread topic though, I would love an explanation of what you meant by the "top 25 get rated." I think we all would. This should be fascinating.

Who have they lost to?

Why is Ohio State in his top four? Who have they beaten?

Virginia Tech.

Oh, wait, that was last year? And we're not supposed to use last year's results in this year's rankings? If that's so, why does Ohio State get credit for winning the championship last season? I thought these rankings were supposed to be based on what you did this season.

And if that's not the case - Virginia Tech.

I don't think that's a football question you're asking. Please stick to football. Any questions, please see JohnnyFive.

Uh, I am JohnnyFive. And I would still love to know what you meant by Iowa made it to the round of 32, the top 25 get ranked. I've been thinking about it for five minutes trying to figure it out.

Lol. How did a robot manage to get a screen name? I mean I love the irony of you talking to me like a robot since my screen name is derived from a movie starring a robot, but it's not adding anything to the discussion.

Neither is continuing to talk about basketball in a football thread.

If I open a basketball thread will you explain then what you meant by Iowa made the round of 32, the top 25 get ranked? I'm beginning to think there's some cool new NCAA tournament poll out there I wasnt made aware of or something. Sounds fun.

Otherwise, back to the topic at hand. If Oklahoma wins out, their strength of schedule might give them an edge over a one-loss ND or Iowa. Their SOS would definitely be better than Iowa, but ND's might be strong enough if their only loss is still to No 1 Clemson. I guess we will find out in a few weeks.

Sure. It's really pretty simple.

I agree. I keep hearing if Iowa wins out, they're in. I'm not so convinced. There's a lot that can happen to change that.

An undeafeated iowa team this year would not get in over an undefeated Okie St. team come playoff selection time. Hok fans better be praying Okie St, Alabama, Notre Dame, and Clemson slip up at least once, or the amount of backlash from hok fans will be epic, for years to come. If Okie St can win their last 2 games, I may actually be cheering for the hoks against the buckeyes, just so this could happen.

I agree. I also think the x factor if this were to happen is Delaney. He is maybe the most powerful man in college athletics. He would not sit idle if a Big Ten team were left out when undefeated.

It should be noted that you Clones let down an entire state on Sunday.

ISU fans were rooting.
Iowa fans were rooting.

You let down an entire state with that **** show at the end.

Pretty stupid to think Florida would jump Iowa after beating a 3-7 Gamecock team by 10. Ain't happening. Nor would Okie St. jump Iowa after a weak 4-point win against ISU.
Maybe. But how many teams did Iowa jump after beating a p*** poor team in Indiana by 8?
