OU would roll the hawkeyes

I would get on board with this in a heartbeat. But IF iowa drops, and that's a big IF, it will be no lower than 6.

Pretty stupid to think Florida would jump Iowa after beating a 3-7 Gamecock team by 10. Ain't happening. Nor would Okie St. jump Iowa after a weak 4-point win against ISU.

This committee is nothing if not unpredictable. Okie State and/or Oklahoma COULD jump Iowa. I don't necessarily think it will happen, but I won't be surprised if it does, either.

I don't think Florida makes any big jump, but if you look at Notre Dame and Alabama you have to look at OU and Florida. OU has the worst loss of them but they have key wins and consistently convincing wins. I did a blind resume comparison and was pretty shocked that after Clemson there are about 8 resumes where you really couldn't distinguish in any major way because a lot of the unbeatens don't have great SOS, honestly Ohio State's is probably the least impressive but still has its arguments.

Ok. I'm confused. Where the talent gap minimal? QB? DL? LB? WR? RB? DB? Punter? Kicker?

Other than at WR, the talent gap is pretty wide

ISU really needs to start building teams from the lines out[/QUOTE]

Finally someone thought of it. Please apply for next year's ISU job if it opens up. :P
+1000 on the bolder part. This could be done within our recruiting area.

Okie State's win was more impressive than Iowa's this weekend. Not by much but who knows what the committee will do

This. There's no way the committee chooses an 11-1 Big 12 champ over an 11-1 Notre Dame team.

11-1 Oklahoma is in over 11-1 Notre Dame. Really not a doubt in my mind, Big 12 conspiracy theorists be damned.

It will be interesting if they gave OU the nod with the Big 12 name team being the team in question. At some point it starts to look a little silly if they have 8 or 12 teams in this playoff and there's never a Big 12 team involved when the Big 12 consistently ranks out as a top 2 conference by the numbers.

The ACC is clearly the weakest of the P5 leagues, yet it looks like a lock to have 2 of the first 8 playoff teams and possibly 3 of the first 8 if you count this new Notre Dame thing.

It's time for me acknowledge Iowa's great season, same as when I acknowledged Wichita State's undefeated season. Beating ****** teams over and over again has value, because most teams will take a game off once in a while.

Okie St beat the #62 team on the road by 4. Iowa beat the #72 team at home by 5. So yes, Oklahoma State beat a better team on the road so it's a little more impressive

Weird I can only find a top 25 with some teams also receiving votes.

No it wasn't.

They both squeaked by bad football teams by less than a TD; the difference is Iowa did it at home and OSU did it on the road.

Doesn't really matter because Iowa will be #5 again this week. But OU and OSU could jump them with wins next weekend though.

Which makes it a better win. AND... the committee should add in the fact that Minnesota had numerous starters out injured too. Both starting DT's, both safeties, and starting RB off the top of my head.
