Oscar Predictions for Tonight...

Accusing them all of being Epstein’s friends is pretty low and likely possibly true but nobody smacked him for it.
A room full of people that support Roman Polanski walking free after drugging and raping a 13 year old being offended by an Epstein joke is pretty rich.

Comedians make jokes about things, sometimes those things people don't have control over, they make jokes about people dying, people being fat, skinny, tall, short, black, white, male, female, and sometimes even bald.
Yeah, welcome to getting made fun of for some physical feature, like millions of other people all the time, including in movies.

Funny that the first movie I see pop up when I search her name is some nutty professor movie with Eddie Murphy in a fat suit. I have not seen it, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say she made a little money where a majority of the movie are stupid jokes about him being so fat.

It was a bad joke that wasn't funny, was done in poor taste, especially considering this is something she can't help. But these dimwits need to get over themselves.

I'd imagine the very public knowledge of your wife having all kinds of side pieces would do funny things to a guy's brain....
The part that bothered me the most was that she made an evening about her, and it had nothing to do with her.

Will bowing up made him look even more ridiculous than their made for tv talk where she talked about all of the men she slept with. It was extra special for a guy that’s never really even cursed on screen to drop multiple f bombs.

what was the last movie jada was even in?

I don't watch much TV but wow, is that real?

I’m not saying I’m some sort of true Hollywood insider, but I’ve worked with studios here for 7 years and my best friend has been here working with them for 15 years.

My friend told me the rumors about Ellen five or six years before that went public from people he knew who worked with her.

My coworkers who had worked at Sony pictures all had the same opinion of will smith as an unhinged egomaniac. Wedging his kid into those films killed morale of the studio. These studios support a massive amount of “normal” jobs.

The funny thing is Will was laughing at the joke until he saw that Jada didn't like it and then decided he needed to defend her honor or whatever.
This is by far the weirdest part and really the only comment I have.

Was he laughing just because everyone else was and then had an “oh sh!t” moment when he realized what was said?

I can't believe all the people that think it is ok and it was the right thing to do...
If I had gotten award that night, I would have called him out.
Standing ovation?? disgusting.
Blaming on the devil? Really?

Of course the entertainment industry has a history of covering up and excusing violence of all kinds in their industry so I guess it isn't too surprising that Will Smith just got to go back to his seat, win an award, and have people cheer for him and will face no legal repercussions.

Also, I don't think the joke was mean to be offensive in any way. It was a dumb joke wasn't offensive to me. GI Jane was a bad ass woman. I mean if you get to punch someone every time they tell a joke about you if you are a celebrity, why didn't Ricky Gervais get punched for almost every joke he tells at the Globes? Just immature, entitled actions by Smith. Him and Jada are both weird af.

I do understand that Jada was upset, as she has alopecia. And so Will was defending that. But those two are a train wreck.

Will's slow walk up and back to his seat was the weirdest thing to me. He had time to think about his next steps and he still decided at a slap was the right idea. So freaking weird. I can't imagine raging like that knowing you are on live TV.

If he did that on live TV knowing everyone was watching, wouldn't be surprised to here some stories about what he has done in other situations when cameras weren't on.

That is not defending her. That is his own ego and rage. I mean give me a ******* break.

Thinking this morning about it all, and still kind of in shock....I hope last night doesn't set a precedent for future artists. A man was offended by a performance, so he used violence to silence the performer. Minutes later, this man was celebrated, given an ovation, and a platform to express himself.

Not like Chris Rock is the first comedian to ever say something edgy, offensive, or however you want to look at it. Some people will find that stuff funny, some won't. However, just sucks it was handled that way.

I’m sure there are. The guys I work with who worked at Sony basically felt like the main goal of the studio was to please Smith and it was all hands on deck any time he was thought to be there. Just a lot of general stories that it created toxic environment.

Kanye already kind of started this.

Honestly even though he didn’t hit somebody what Kanye did multiple times was weirder and more disrespectful.

Felt at the time the public celebrated him too, he certainly wasn’t punished.

Not accepting normal reality things and getting violent about it is clearly a trend in lots of spaces.
