Oscar Predictions for Tonight...

I'd imagine the very public knowledge of your wife having all kinds of side pieces would do funny things to a guy's brain....

From someone who has gone through having a (now ex) wife who has done this, I can affirm. I have no idea what Will Smith is actually going through, but minus the slap, the lashing out was all too familiar.

I mean it’s not like he’s not doing the same thing.
I'm guessing jealousy is pretty rampant even in agreed upon open relationships, especially when you throw in a massive ego like that into the mix.

Seems like all these Hollywood elites enjoy talking about peace and love all night, but when one of their own physically assaults and sucker punches someone on stage…. they nearly immediately give them a standing ovation and celebrate them. Disgusting….. and hypocritical.
Hollywood elites? Duh. This is just dumb. He slapped someone. Boo Freaking Hoo. Toughen up buttercup.

Why are these films that maybe four people saw that will be quickly forgotten winning these major awards? Dune is going to be the only film remembered from this year in ten years and, yes, it cleaned up on the technical categories, but why is the Academy still so adverse to science fiction? It is not like Dune was "dumb" "explody" MCU stuff. The source material is one of the greatest novels of the Twentieth Century and has deep themes on politics, political economy, ecology, religion, and gender. You can't do much better than that.

He slapped someone on live television in front of millions of people after a joke he was filmed laughing it. This was done all for show by an egomaniac in a crowd full of similar egomaniacs. Then they all cheered for him while he blabbered on about some mysterious calling from God that apparently involves slapfighting with Marty the Zebra. Just the way he walked up there and walked back shows he thought he was pretty tough ****, with an unprovoked open handed slap of a 5'9" dude in Tom Ford.

These people all suck.

I saw this online and thought it was funny: "He's lucky it was Chris Rock and not The Rock up there cracking that joke."

Agree. They have always been so biased against sci fi, even though that genre contains so many of our greatest stories. Same holds true for television awards.
