On a Oscar movie note....note these following movies because they'll be the ones up for a ton of awards in a year

Killers of the Flower Moon (my pick early to win it all and get Scorcese another directing win)
The Fabelmans
Babylon
Armageddon Time
Canterbury Glass
Empire of Light
The Son

Stay on topic. This thread is only for declaring you hate the Oscars, or Will/Rock.

I think I’ll spend a lot of time in the theaters watching movies that definitely won’t be on this list. I think the kids will guilt me into Sonic in a couple weeks, and I’ll definitely go see Jurassic Park, Mario, hopefully Top Gun doesn’t suck.

Might be true. Killers of the Flower Moon though will be one that I think a LOT of people are going to see. True story based on a FANTASTIC book with big stars and big director. Big oil. Murder. Leads to the birth of the FBI. It's horrific and fascinating.

That's a reach. Society isn't kind to anyone balding, certainly not from alopecia. I know two young males that got it in their 20's and the mental health issues it facilitated tanked their lives.

Regardless, the crazy double standard is can you imagine what the reaction would be if Smith had slapped a female comedian? I mean, I can't even imagine that being done, it would be so taboo, instant career suicide. But I don't think there would be much talk about how a balding joke was too low. If Smith were to be white, and not arrested, we would hear a lot of discussion as to the privilege too.

Smith should have been arrested for assault.
Jada would have taken care of it herself.

The whole Chris Rock thing just confirms why I hate the Oscars and hate Hollywood. The man smacked the **** out of someone over a joke (albeit a bit of a disrespectful one) and they treated him like a damn war hero. To not only let him stay there, but to get him an unprecedented amount of time for his speech while all the other smell-your-own-fart types acted like he was delivering some great message about being an agent of peace, as though he had not just smacked someone completely unprovoked, is so on-brand for these narcissists.

I mean, the absolute hypocrisy it takes to walk up there and smack someone and minutes later talk about how God gave you a message about spreading peace and love is why you've just got to love Hollywood. And not only for him to do it but for all the other self-important weirdos to not only ignore that hypocrisy but celebrate it is just so incredibly typical.

And for all the "well he disrespected his wife" folks, I submit this:

A) He laughed at the joke.
B) Handle it back stage through a, I don't know, mature adult conversation...?

This was all done as some big showy act by someone whose self-obsession loves the idea of how cool he thinks he looked walking up and smacking him.

Interesting theory. What are your thoughts about the manicured grass on your property, and young people's proximity thereof?
He probably believes they should be assertively, verbally notified if young people are approaching a proximity to said manicured grass that causes him great concern.

The funny thing is Will was laughing at the joke until he saw that Jada didn't like it and then decided he needed to defend her honor or whatever.
