On to Texas Tech

The last two years should tell us what to expect. If we have a good crowd again, we should handle them convincingly.
We've handily beaten better in WVU. Play to our level, not theirs, and we should roll. I think their QB(s?) will struggle with the pressure we've been applying recently. Unlke Grier, however, I expect TTU to be smart enough to throw the ball away.

@ Okie State (4-3) 41-17
@ TCU (3-4) 17-14
We already know about TCU and Okie State.
Houston's best win: Arizona (3-5) Arizona in Houston.
All of of Houston's win's are against opponents with a losing record.

WV 42-34 (5-1) at home.
In the WV game, 17 of the 34 points, came in the 4th quarter. WV was just going through the motions at that point. Ole Miss, TCU and WV (when they are trying) have above average defenses. TT offense struggled against them.
Against offenses with some type of pulse, the TT defense allowed: 49 (Houston), 47 (Ole Miss), 42 (WV).
With how ISU is clicking these past two weeks, indicates that ISU should win this game. However, the wildcard is the TT QB who was injured. ISU knows really well how much a QB can change things.

Count me sold on Purdy, but I am still wondering about regression....call it timidness from a recent history of early crowning of young ISU QBs. He's the guy, but what Purdy has done so far is very impressive.
TTU's defense is better than its offense this year, but having Bowman back again at QB has TTU's offense trending positively. ISU is undoubtedly the favorite at home, but this is probably the most balanced TTU team since 2009. Looking forward to a competitive, back-and-forth game.

They might be if they beat us. If we beat them, I don't see us sneaking in. Receiving votes, sure, but not getting in full. I think we're still at least one more win and some chaos elsewhere away.
My assumption is he said that because he wanted us to win three straight against ranked teams.
ISU has yet to put together a full game, or really even close, so hopefully they trend closer to doing that next Saturday.

I’d call WVU about as close to a full game that any team is going to have....outside of pick and blocked kick, that was utter domination of a top 10 ranked team.

ISU has really taken them to the woodshed the last couple years. I'm sure they are not happy about the last time they can to Ames and Lanning ran through them like they were in a gunny sack race. Sometimes anger can help you, but most of the time it leads to stupid.

Depends on how well we play coming off the bye week. Anyone know CMC's record coming off bye weeks?
That's what I mean...that's a specials teams fiasco that leads to a score the other way, and specials teams have had issues--bad punts contributed to the loss at Iowa, a botched punt return led to a short field for OSU, etc.
Also the penalties vs. WV.
Nothing's perfect for anyone but if ISU is proficient in all 3 phases, it can turn into a real nice football team.
Is this week kind of like the Iowa/Iowa State week in your household? That big in-house ISU/Tech rivalry?
