Rocco has shown he deserves to be the guy. If Kohl isn't happy with that, so be it. You HAVE to play the best guy and not worry about if the backup is happy or not.

He's already played probably the best defense he'll see all year in Iowa and was serviceable at worst for that game. The floor seems fairly high for him. The team needs to make sure they're raising his ceiling moving forward. Kid can ball, so let him ball.
So I assume the slide was deliebrate and not like he was attempting a cut or maybe and slipped? I didn't see a replay although I'm highly certain he intended to slide. If so it isn't worth it just to reduce opponent's timeouts if you that close to getting first down.

I believe fans have every right to be frustrated with the 1st month of the season. Beating a bad OSU team at home was fun - OF COURSE all Iowa State fans are happy with a win - it was fun to be in Ames yesterday! But in reality, it doesn’t magically make the 1st month of the season criticisms go away or invalid in any way.
I am very frustrated as a fan with the way the staff and prepared for/strategized against an extremely beatable Iowa team.
I am very frustrated as a fan with the way the staff has the team unprepared in an away game against a MAC opponent. Don’t lose that freaking game, and more importantly - don’t put together garbage game plans like that one.
And to respond to the last sentence, even with how silly it is. As a fan, I don’t need to worry about picking a coach or thinking/wishing a coach could be better or is better than the current coach. We all want CMC to succeed (yes, we ALL do). But why all these ‘set in stone’ statements like “we couldn’t do better than [insert coach]? My response would be - Why the hell not?
Someone should let USC know that OSU is apparently the worst FBS team in the country. Riley should shut the season down, since USC was in a fight with Arizona State in the 4th quarter. Since OSU beat ASU in Tempe by two scores then USC doesn’t have much hope to do anything big this year.

It's almost like one game or even stretch of games doesn't always define the season. It's weird that a few fans can't seem to figure that out.

Good thing is he’s a true freshman and very few included are the guys like the Tennessee freshman etc. Competition will either bring out the best in him or he will leave. If he leaves it’s because the better player is there. Still a win win for everyone
Yeah I feel better about this vs. another 13-10 type game. Even against a bad D it’s a good confidence boost, and we know our defense will get back on track.
Still concerned about OL, but we found something with Sanders’ outside running. Need Remsburg back

I see it that way too..Saying Rocco being as good as he is was a wild card coming in that changed things with JJ. Talk was Rocco til JJ was ready, but that idea can be put to rest right now. I can't tell you if JJ will take over, but he's going to have to be damn good to do it.
