*** Official Oklahoma State vs IOWA STATE Game(Day) Thread ***

My God some of you have to live miserable lives. We got the win and covered the spread. Was it pretty? Nope. Are there things to work on? Yep.

But good lord some of you just go right to negative even in a W. Are there more wins this year? Let’s see. There will be plenty of chances because the conference is not good.

Just fricking enjoy a victory and leave the pissing and moaning until at least tomorrow.
Well said!!!

Thank you for proving you didn’t look at the stats. You mean the OU defense allowing 300 yards/game against Arkansas State, Tulsa, and SMU? Can’t put too much stock in the fact theve only allowed 9 points
Allowing 7.5 points a game ISU might get a field goal in Norman.

I liked what we saw from Eli Sanders. Showed a little more shiftiness and ability to bounce off a plugged up hole than Norton or Sama, which they’ll all see a lot with this line.
I like what I saw from Sanders today. I just I hope he can stay healthy. The way our OLine blocks, I'm not sure how many RBs are going to make it to the end of the season.

Its great to be happy about a win.

But yeah, the same people who don't want to hear any negatives after a win are the same people who will go "but where were you when we won last week?" after a loss.

No one wants to think about a little fan message board pressure might motivate the team to great heights. So ya basically I’m taking credit for this win.

We saw today that the offense can work, but only when we pass first and try and run second. We keep trying to run through a brick wall with our running game, it does not work and never will.
The talent is there in the skilled position to throw the ball, not there in the run game against a stacked box.

Throw the damn ball.
I agree with this. We need to run enough to set up play action which Rocco is really good at.

We won so nothing else matters? Ok.
For today? Yep. Complaining immediately after a win after we had the entire week of many in this thread (who are still nothing but negative) saying we wouldn’t win another game this year is nauseating.

Conference wins are conference wins. Take it that we saw a victory today and move on. Dissect the game tomorrow in the areas we clearly still need to work on.

But holy **** your lives must suck when your first reaction to a win is, “Won’t win another one”, “Lucky to get out with that victory”, “Okie State sucks so bad so does the win even count?” Blah blah blah blah.

Since moving away from Iowa I will say it’s the one thing I don’t miss about the state. So many folks in Iowa have a naturally negative view about things, a victim mentality and just are exhausting to be around. My entire family is like this and I was too but left the state and the positive mindset from people I met when I moved to a new state on the coast has been the greatest gift. Being negative all of the time is so bad for your health and life outlook.

Not this guy. Call each game how I see it. If you want to turn immediately to everything that went wrong instead of just waiting until tomorrow you need to be a fan of another team, preferably one that almost never loses.

Of course there is a lot to address from this game, but ******* lord we scored more than 30 points and won a conference game. After last week I honestly wasn’t sure that would happen.

Always will take a win! I think the biggest takeaway from today was showing how the offense should be run...pass first run 2nd thought. Great to see the points finally. Roc I think had a welcome to the big leagues and let me show you what I can do game today and fully delivered.

Defense will be sorted out no worry on that side of the ball with the coaching.

Rocco is getting better every week. He made some amazing throws leaning into the hit. I thought pretty good mix of play calling. They stuck with the run to keep them honest and actually started getting some decent chunks in the 4th quarter with Sanders. He looked pretty good. The interception by Tampa looked like a professional corner. Looked effortless. Jaylen finally woke up and had probably his best game. Defense was shaky at times but we all knew Gundy was gonna come in guns blazing with the scheme to get this W. All in all great performance after what we have seen the first few games.

edit:
Rocco gave me some serious Brock Purdy vibes at times today. I think he has a better arm though. Lots of potential but we haven't seen elite competition yet.

Jesus…most people are capable of being happy with a win and also noting the things we can do better. Not all of us are “sky high elation” or “massive meltdown” game after game.

Rocco was great. Continued runs with all of the passing game success and conservative game plan could have cost us another one. Happy we won and we made some progress but we have a LONG way to go.

Pretty sure he got hurt pretty bad, at one point, I don't think they thought he would ever play again.
That's probably it. A second redshirt, medical one? I was wondering about that because it's his 6th year.

You are a loser
I was determined to not be so critical today and from here on. Winning always makes that easier. Improvement asked for. Improvement seen. The OL is just a problem and will take time, and we will have to scheme around it. We did that today.

I'm not sure Darius knows when to quit. We will all be better off if Campbell rights this ship.
