*** Official NBA draft thread ***

If Fox leaves like rumors have swirling he might, then Tyrese can absolutely make a name for himself and get a contract with a different team who is a contender.
I hope Fox doesn’t leave. Sacramento would be silly to let him walk too. NBA’s restricted free agency rules won’t help him either.

Not meaning to derail from the Haliburton talk but any thoughts on the other picks so far? I dunno what the Bulls were thinking at #4. They probably could have traded down and still got Williams in the top 10. I get that he is 19 with a lot of upside but that didn't seem to matter last year with THT falling out of the 1st round. He averaged 9 ppg last year so not a lot to get excited about at the moment. Could be a pick they look back and wish they had not passed on guys like Okoro, Toppin, Avdija, and Haliburton. Saw 1 comment on social media that the pick feels a lot like when the Bears picked Trubisky over Mahomes and Watson. They got rid of Gar Forman but still feels like John Paxson has his fingerprints on the Williams pick for some reason.

For most of my life the Bulls were my main team even more than ISU a lot of the time (and I lived there for 15 years). It's become almost impossible to follow. I basically became a legit Nuggets fan the past two seasons listening to Monte play on my drive. I still follow random NBA games but find it almost impossible to follow "my team".

Obviously ISU fans aren't the fair weather type either.

I hear ya! I grew up during the Jordan years and I stuck with them through the rough years after he retired. Had a glimmer of hope when Rose was healthy and they were good again then ever since they fell apart after Rose's injury and dismantled that team I've lost a lot of interest in the NBA. I still casually follow the Bulls but I have no idea what they are trying to do lately as it seems like they have no vision with how they assemble their roster. Their 2 picks last year in White and Gafford were solid and 2018 was OK if Carter could stay healthy but their picks from 2010ish to 2017 were brutal. Markkanen has been injury prone too and never turned into the star they hoped he could be. I get they were picking later in the draft from 2010-13 but they have nothing to show for their top 16 or better picks for the next 3 years after that. Really even from 2000 on their drafts have been mostly busts or under achievers outside of a few players.

Give the Nuggets a chance. Even if they didn't have Monte, Jokic and Murray are extremely fun to watch.

Plus he’ll be playing a lot more than just home games in CA.
Have cousins who live in Sacramento. FBI and state patrol guys. Said Sacramento is a better tax place than the coast towns. Although they also say that most people wouldn’t go to Kings games even if they were paid.

Odd. I have a friend (HS classmate and ISU grad) there who is disappointed she has to give up their longtime season tickets because of covid—she’s immune compromised.

Yup so when you play game in Illinois at Chicago you have to report Illinois income, in Colorado at Denver you have to report Colorado income, etc.

Does stock car racing work the same way. Wherever you win you get taxed?
