Official Iowa vs Purdue Thread

Yes thus Iowa not going to win as many games as people are predicting on here. Iowa is not that far ahead of anyone and with the worst offense in the country can lose to every single one of those teams. If thats trolling not sure I have complete understanding of what the term means. Thought I was just engaging in conversation but people here like taking personal shots instead of disagreeing with a counterpoint.

My prediction for Iowa, depending on how the offense developed after the Kent State game was 9 wins. If they developed they possibly could win out but there was no development. Yesterday said they would struggle throughout the West before they struggled.

I've left Kinnick at night before, it's a nightmare getting to the interstate.

….and once you get in the interstate it’s a nightmare. The IC to DSM drive, it’s a white knuckle, drive it like you own it, and NASCAR license required type of driving for about two hours.

You said the Big Ten West was underrated

Not sure I’d say PSU is overrated. They were rolling vs Iowa until Clifford went out in the 2nd quarter.

They struggled to beat Wisconsin. Notre Dame beat Wisconsin 41-13. Michigan rolled them as well. Penn State doesn't know how to do a silent count on the road. Penn State lost to Iowa. They ARE overrated. Big time.

A lot of construction westbound on 80 as well between IC and DSM.. No thanks.

I didn't see the game yesterday... how much time was left in the game when the hok " fans" started leaving?

Iowa didn’t win the turnover battle by 4+…….. and the result was that an average team took them to the woodshed.

And that was with Iowa catching that massive break that took a Purdue TD off the board and gave Iowa the ball as well.

Purdue just handed the rest of the B1G West a blueprint to beat the Hoks. Pretty simple: Win the turnover battle.

Purdue also should have had a pick 6, guy dropped the ball right in his hands. Iowa was very lucky they didn't lose that game by 14 more points. They lucked their way to the final score, it should have been worse.

For how good Parker is supposed to be I'm surprised about the lack of depth in the secondary. On top of that Kirk is supposed to be some OL guru and Iowa's OL is awful

Anyway, I would guess there are lots of Iowa fans that somehow have an angle today that Purdue's lucky they didn't try to run the ball more or something stupid.

I have read the usual crap......but it there are quite a few more than usual who are being reasonable. You can't count on turnovers, short fields and injured QB's for success. Sooner or later the offense has to prove it can make those long time consuming drives a couple times a game or your defense will get exposed and just get worn down. That is what happened yesterday and many of their fans are worried the gig is up, and the rest of this season against the weak West division may not be nearly as easy as it looked Saturday morning.

Agreed. This is a very down year for Iowa as far as their offensive line goes. Could be the worst he has ever had.
