related to the game here, but can we get to the point were the fumble into your own endzone isn't a turnover? can't they just move the ball back out to the 10 or 20 yard line or something? seems crappy to me.
The whole graphic on them must be wrong if that's the case, that'd be a near impossible amount of plays.
All last week the EIU fan base was talking about the virtues of punting in their games, and how only a great coach like Freerents would do such a thing. Punting means you have a horrible offense and it did not do its job, which is to move the football down the field and score points.
It will be interesting to see how far they drop in the bowls today, EIU was not a media darling to begin with, heard a lot of national reporters thinking that had the Penn. St. QB not gotten hurt, they would have lost last week, and then to get manhandled at home by an unranked Purdue team should drop them to about 12th or so.

On SoundOff last night someone called in and read off a quote from Jeff Brohm in the post game. I haven't been able to find the exact quote, but it was something about how Iowa has defended David Bell the same way for 3 straight years now and they were surprised to see Iowa was still just single-covering him all game given that he had torched them in two games already. Brohm said Iowa never adjusted to it during the game either.
It was pretty clear they thought Iowa would pay more attention to Bell but once they figured out he was just being single covered every play, they started chucking it to him.

Things just sort of fell into place for them to be ranked that high like OU looking unimpressive and PSU being overrated.
Now if they are in the Top Ten this week then something is up.
Yeah, even though we all knew they were a fraud, when other teams above them were losing and looking bad, the pollsters really didn't have much of a choice but to keep moving them up. They'd get roasted for doing the right thing in ranking them more realistically based on the evidence from their actual performances.
Which if we're being honest they should. If you win, you move up.
Even if ISU were undefeated and ranked in the top 5 or something I'm not sure I'd fully believe it vs. what else is out there but it would be fun. Although if there's any season to be ranked high, it's this one because college football seems down.
Anyway, I would guess there are lots of Iowa fans that somehow have an angle today that Purdue's lucky they didn't try to run the ball more or something stupid.
