OFFICIAL Colorado post-game MELTDOWN Thread

Too lazy to read the whole thread, but this team, coaches and players was not prepared for this game at all.

One question......why did ISU take a knee to end the first half? To me, that was just weak. It says to AA and the offense..."we have no confidence in your ability to make a big play at all". Why not take at least one shot down field, or run a trick play or something? What do you have to lose? Honestly, when I saw AA take the knee I thought.......well, they have given up.
Same **** different week. The decisions by the coaching staff last week haunted ISU in this game, and it could still caryover to next week.

I just dont think this team has had enough talent and depth to be consistent week after week. We have seen some great things, but they just cant maintain it every week with no rest. The program as a whole failed today, this is true.
Agree with this. We have a lot of problems to solve on the Oline and Dline for next year. I just don't understand how the Oline can play so well against NU and completely fall apart against Colorado. It was like they had never seen a blitz before.

Obviously we were not ready to play today. I hope the coaching staff can get the kids ready to play. Next weeks game is against a much better opponent and there is a lot on the line. What a depressing day.

Today reminds me of the Baylor game two years ago. The team came out with no fire, no passion, no emotion, no desire, and no heart. It was like they just showed up to tell everybody that we are here and that is about it.

We are never going to be a Tier 1 program unless we know how to play off a heartfelt loss. This game really hurts. It was like Colorado knew every play we were running before we ran it. QUIT RUNNING THE READ OPTION ON FIRST DOWN! Everybody knows its coming. Did the Oline have one less player this week?

I just wanted a season where we beat everybody we were suppose to beat and even won a few we weren't suppose to. Thought we had it this year.

I am embarrassed by the effort and execution today. Top to bottom (head coach to bench players) this was a very poor showing and a big step backwards for the program.

How we can win @ Texas and can't even be competitive against a winless-in-conference CU team - I just can't understand. But it was easy to see sitting in the stands, this group just didn't seem to want to be playing football today. That falls on both the players and coaches. Shame on all of them. And I am very ashamed of our offensive line today. Pathetic.

I feel we have the right staff and are making progress - but they failed today in a big way.

Surprised you didn't mention the trenches - because the offensive and defensive lines were flat out pwned today. ARob's too good of a back to rush for as few yards as he did today. Plus ~10 sacks on both QBs - the OL didn't show up today. And then there's the D line. Got virtually no pressure on the QB, even when blitzing, giving the QB a day and a half to throw (and he made us pay throw after throw for not getting to him). That and, until late in the game, CU ran all over us.

We were pwned in the trenches - thus we were pwned on the scoreboard.

As I told my brother-in-law, this was the first time in a while I was sickened by what I saw.

Also our "toughest SOS in the world" took a beating today as well. Utah and Iowa both got embarrassed by week teams, Texas continues to be horrible, and K-State got beat soundly.

I really hope we can pull our **** together this week and go bowling.

Also I Hope Austen is able to play in said bowl game.

Texas is losing 16-3 at home. Their oline looks like our oline.

I thought we'd win three games this year. I think the future is bright. We just need more players. Takes time.

We could have used a little more push out of an oline when 8 of our first 10 drives gained 4 yards. I think our offensive game plan sucked. We played right into their hands., They came up the middle and we were squashed.

Well said, 22. I agree on all accounts, rep your way.

I'm ashamed of your post. Get over yourself. This team is running out of gas. We have already overachieved and I'm hoping we can do it one more time. Virtually every team in the country has 1 or more games like this a year. I'm sure our coaches worked just as hard last week as they have all the rest. These players and coaches have battled all year and I'm not going to start bagging on them now. In my opinion this is the best coached ISU team I have seen in a long, long time.

I hope I didn't offend too much but I'm seeing too many positive things happening to start taking digs at the team....I'm behind them all the way. I'm sure they feel worse than you or I do.

I feel sorry for coach Hoiberg when he loses his first game.

It might help understand this better if you tune in the OSU-UT game in Austin...

Ha, no kidding. That win looks less and less impressive every week.

As someone put it to me, beating texas was like hooking up with the hottest girl in town... only to find out later she was the town bicycle. Doesnt change that hooking up with her was fun, but it sure means a lot less.

The Town Bicycle. Just what are you pedaling?

I would never have thought of that analogy, but somehow, it makes sense.

On a related topic, if I had only one wish in the short-term for ISU FB -- that head-turning upsets wouldn't be partially due to the opponent being in a down year.
