Big east is done. Happy the catholic 7 who stuck together, wish more schools would do that but it's not about history it's bout the money. NCAA is like Wu tang C.R.E.A.M. Cash rules everything around me!

How can anyone commit to the BE the way things have gone the last two years? The need a new conference name: Carpetbaggers.

going to be very interesting to see what happens with the maryland lawsuit. it kinda sounds like the other 6 schools are kinda waiting for that to be decided before deciding wether to jump ship or not.

Here's a move I think has more audacity than any conference going to 14 or 16 teams...Boise has told the Mtn West and Big East that they'll come to their conference if they get to retain TV rights for home games. That's never happened before. Only Independents keep TV rights. If Boise truly is the lynchpin they think they are, it will be interesting to see if either conference gives into the game of chicken. Pretty amazing to me the audacity they have...

Boise State trying to get Big East, Mountain West to allow Broncos to retain home TV rights, according to sources - ESPN

"Boise reminds me of the teenage recruit who is starting to believe he's the biggest star in town," a source said. "It might be a pretty big letdown when all is said and done. Actually the sentiment of 'who do they think they are' is starting to seep into conversations with folks across college football.

"Let's remember this isn't Alabama, or even Texas Tech, we're talking about. This sorry episode is starting to make it seem like Boise is one of the power assets in college football. In reality their value is relative to the conference they belong to."

One industry source believes Boise State is the "lynchpin" in whether the Big East or MWC survives. Another source said "it's pathetic it has come to this -- Boise State shopping itself to get the best deal. It's not like they're Alabama. These guys were a side show until 10 years ago."

It wasn't that long ago that Boise State was an afterthought -- a cute little WAC team best known for gadget plays, blue turf and a player proposing to a cheerleader after one of the Broncos' BCS bowl wins.

Just get to super conferences already and Boise needs to be slapped across the face, this **** is getting old.

So I have seen all this stuff about the Big Ten taking North Carolina and Georgia Tech. Seems strange to me but Delaney's gonna be Delaney, I guess. There seem to be some that think Kansas is on the table for the Big Ten but the last thing the Big 12 needs is another defection and I would hope the GOR would hold up.

Does this mean that the SEC will make a move for Virginia Tech and NC State (or potentially Duke)? Or is that not on the table. Seems like Cincinnati and UConn would jump into the ACC to take UNC and GT's places.

Also, what's the deal with Florida State? Seems to be chatter that they want a B1G or SEC invite. I thought they were Big 12 fodder down the line?

EDIT: Just got to thinking about it, imagine these Big 10 divisions:

WEST:
Nebraska
Iowa
Minnesota
Wisconsin
Illinois
Northwestern
Purdue
Indiana

EAST:
Michigan
Michigan State
Ohio State
Penn State
Rutgers
Maryland
North Carolina
Georgia Tech

What an old-school conference. Can't wait for the North Carolina vs. Colorado traditional Rose Bowl.

B1G and SEC are the clear 1/2 power conferences, FSU knows the Big 12 invite will always be there, may as well try and see if you could get into one of those two conference first. I doubt they will get an invite though.

I bet that reporter would have written the same thing when Florida State rose from nowhere.

Sorry that they aren't a traditional power, Mr. Reporter, sir. Life changed. Adjust along. Congrats to Boise for putting themselves in that sort of position.

I agree with the reporter. Boise overvalues itself. See: boise demanding huge sums to other teams to play them (the REAL reason their noncon schedules have sucked)

Im disapointed in Boise's talk. You say you want to be one of the big boys and challenge all comers but then when they want to play you for a 1 game deal its either no or its the game has to be a nuetral field

Lol at comparing florida state to boise. I don't think either conference gives in to them keeping home game tv rights. They overplayed their hand.

When they made their rise, it was the same story people slam Boise for: talented guys, trick plays, and whatever, but not a traditional power.

I don't care if they get their home rights or not. I'm commenting on the writer's tone. He hates that a non-traditional power put themselves in an sort of strong bargaining position. Writers love traditional powers, and nobody else. This guy was very bothered by the idea of a non-traditional power rising up. Too bad for him.

Id kinda be ticked if i was SDSU. The fact that you went to bat for Boise to get them into the Big West in all other sports and now they really don't care to help you while they try and hold 2 conferences hostage

This is all about ND. Once they commit the other pieces will fall. If they do not, there will be unrest in the ACC, and it will leave open the possibility for defections.

if ND joins ACC, it is stable, and B12 is in trouble. if it joins B1G, they are done, and ACC is picked apart.
