So I have seen all this stuff about the Big Ten taking North Carolina and Georgia Tech. Seems strange to me but Delaney's gonna be Delaney, I guess.
Does this mean that the SEC will make a move for Virginia Tech and NC State (or potentially Duke)? Or is that not on the table. Seems like Cincinnati and UConn would jump into the ACC to take UNC and GT's places.
Also, what's the deal with Florida State? Seems to be chatter that they want a B1G or SEC invite. I thought they were Big 12 fodder down the line?
Here's a move I think has more audacity than any conference going to 14 or 16 teams...Boise has told the Mtn West and Big East that they'll come to their conference if they get to retain TV rights for home games. That's never happened before. Only Independents keep TV rights. If Boise truly is the lynchpin they think they are, it will be interesting to see if either conference gives into the game of chicken. Pretty amazing to me the audacity they have...
Boise State trying to get Big East, Mountain West to allow Broncos to retain home TV rights, according to sources - ESPN
"Boise reminds me of the teenage recruit who is starting to believe he's the biggest star in town," a source said. "It might be a pretty big letdown when all is said and done. Actually the sentiment of 'who do they think they are' is starting to seep into conversations with folks across college football.
"Let's remember this isn't Alabama, or even Texas Tech, we're talking about. This sorry episode is starting to make it seem like Boise is one of the power assets in college football. In reality their value is relative to the conference they belong to."
One industry source believes Boise State is the "lynchpin" in whether the Big East or MWC survives. Another source said "it's pathetic it has come to this -- Boise State shopping itself to get the best deal. It's not like they're Alabama. These guys were a side show until 10 years ago."
It wasn't that long ago that Boise State was an afterthought -- a cute little WAC team best known for gadget plays, blue turf and a player proposing to a cheerleader after one of the Broncos' BCS bowl wins.
I bet that reporter would have written the same thing when Florida State rose from nowhere.
Sorry that they aren't a traditional power, Mr. Reporter, sir. Life changed. Adjust along. Congrats to Boise for putting themselves in that sort of position.

Lol at comparing florida state to boise. I don't think either conference gives in to them keeping home game tv rights. They overplayed their hand.
