Cincy's football program is better than the Ville, recently. If you think that Louisville v. UConn v. Cincy made a damn bit of difference to FSU, you're kidding yourself. Also, please point to any tangible sign of Big 12 discord. You are so wrapped up in realignment and the conspiracy theories and message board rumors that you can't see the reality of the situation. You've convinced yourself, despite all real life indicators, that evil Texas is just waiting to blow up the Big 12 (despite not doing so in 2 consecutive years when given the opportunity) and run off to Independence or the Pac, and that the only way to save the Big 12 is by adding schools that add nothing financially and only serve to add bodies, which of course will only start to create the financial discord that nearly doomed this conference two years ago.

In a hurricane, I'd rather be the guy with a sound home and a long term plan than the doomsday prepper that's out of sight with reality and cluttering his home with useless garbage.

Seriously? 4 teams have left. Texas would have been gone had another conference allowed the LHN. OU had one foot out the door. I would say that is a pretty good 'real life indicator'.

FWIW, I hope that the Big 12 survives in it's current form. Heck, if I have my choice, the original Big 8 would have survived. I'm not wrapped up in rumors or conspiracy, it's just my opinion that in this day and age of college sports, if you aren't growing, you are dying. I could very well be wrong, and I hope I am.

If there was any discord, there would of NEVER been a Grant of Rights.

Neinas is a sharp dude, and all of these things are things you say when you're at 10 members, regardless of whether you'd rather be at 10, 12, etc. It's not like he or Bowlsby's going to roll out at a press conference and say, you know, there's some advantages to being at 10 members, but we're not really happy with it, just trying to figure out who we want or who we can get and how much it'll mean to the bottom line.

Don't get me wrong, I stopped trying to figure out what was going to happen ahead of time on this stuff, so I'm not arguing your position on that, but using the head of the conference lauding the size of his conference as it currently stands as proof that they don't want a change doesn't hold water.
How about the Neinas memo that said it's ND or nobody when it comes to added TV value

Huge fanbase and a large TV market.

We don't have a conference network, so does TV network matter? And does Miami even deliver it? All I have been hearing on here all week is that Rutgers doesn't get you NYC, and Maryland won't get you DC. I would argue that FSU alone may be enough to get you on TV in Miami.

Also, not sure that they really have a large fanbase. Enrollment is around 10k, which makes them smaller than UNI. And a picture is worth a thousand words.

I don't think schools with huge fanbases announce attendance for their home opener at 39k and then get called out for embellishing. Is that a tarp I see in the upper deck? Baylor approved.

To this point I'm curious why the ACC would add L'Ville (or anybody)? Where's the financial gain in having more programs to split the pie with?

From what I understand (which is very little) of the B1G additions it's based upon the ability to force cable subscribers to pay for BTN in NJ & MD. Is there a similar reason for the ACC to want to be in KY?

Is the Pac making more money because of CO and UT?

I guess my basic question is; why the realignment if it's not worth $$$? Why doesn't the ACC act more like the Big XII? (I guess that's 2 questions...)

TV markets definitely do not matter as much in the Big 12 as they do the Big 10, but I think they still matter a little in the eyes of TV Networks right now. I also agree with your Florida State comment, no way we should ever take Miami with Florida State. According to this, Miamis fan base is 14th largest in the nation...The Geography of College Football Fans (and Realignment Chaos) - NYTimes.com

Lastly, Florida is a huge recruiting ground, and having a conference with a few schools from Florida would be a benefit.

KU fans seems to be giddy because they seem to be seeing a lot of smoke to the UNC and KU to the Big 10 Rumors...

Admittedly, that's not the same as "Oooh, here's why 10 is awesome". However, a case could be made that just like coach speak, if it gives them a competitive advantage, they'll say anything (usually short of a flat out lie). It's like Steve Spurrier saying that Alabama could beat a couple of NFL teams. No way he actually believed that, but it's a lie you can never prove. All he was doing was trying to get in their heads.

Another analogy: Poker. Don't show anything, try to read everyone else, and hey, if you can get away with bluffing a little, go for it.

Are you telling me that FSU and Clemson wouldn't add TV value? Florida is such a huge market I don't see anyway Florida State wouldn't add value.

Miami's stadium attendance this year has been considered "small" but remember, they're playing in SunLife which is also about 20 minutes north of Coral Gables and the school is destined to no post season. The fanbase is there.

You could be right but I am more inclined to go with the Neinas led valuation than yours.
