***Official 2023 Chicago Cubs Thread***

At this point I feel confident the Cubs will be in the playoffs, but I've pretty much lost hope for the Division. I think at this point you just got to look for the best matchup, and get home field in the first round.

Man I hope the team doesn’t think that way. 3 games is nothing in the division race ESPECIALLY with a potentially huge three game series against the Brewers to end the year. Stay within 3 games and let the chips fall where they may in that last series. We’d also have the tiebreaker over the Brewers if we win the last series as it’s tied 5-5 right now

Cards are starting to play better and they are all over Milwaukee's September schedule.

Hopefully by the time we get to Atlanta they are resting starters and pitchers.

If we can get to the final series within a game of the lead it will be win 2 of 3 and win the division. ( tiebreaker)

I don't understand playing the garbage players when we have you guys that can play just as ****** but have more potential to play better

I doubt they are, but for how well the Cubs have played since the break, the Brewers have just stayed with them toe to toe pretty much. I just personally feel like they're running out of time.

At this point, I just want the Cubs to be able to play that three game series at home. I would be highly confident with a home series they would win, and then see what they can do in the division series.

He had used an option year just by being on the 40 man. But yes, he can go up and down 5 times each year.
I thought there was a rule that when you're sent down they have to wait x number of days before you can be recalled but because Candelario went to the IL that could override the requirement.

Or maybe it just applies to pitchers.

Madrigal HAS to be smarter than that. Zero reason to go there
He was sent by Harris. On that, Harris has never been great.

Also, I do think Madrigal was safe. Look to me that he got the toe on the base before the tag. On that, when was the last time Ross won a challenge?

He was most definitely not sent by Harris. Harris had his hands up as he was nearing second and then once Madrigal made his decision he was telling him to get his ass down

Maybe I misunderstood, but didn't Sutcliffe say Willie sent him? I'm multitasking so wasn't paying too close of attention.
