I think Dallas did the same thing with their long snapper. That sucks a lot. Hopefully Herndon can step in.
Sounds like guys like Griffen and potentially Abdullah could be back on the roster in the next couple days. The idea is you release guys that you believe will clear waivers, until the potential feeding frenzy of signing that can occur after teams get down to 53 dies down. Then you release your young guys with a greater likelihood of them making your practice squad, and re-sign the vets.
That's definitely what's happening with Minnesota's long snapper. They cut him yesterday. But there's virtually no chance they start the season without one on the roster, so the idea is that they'll wait a couple days, try to place one of their young guys on the practice squad, and re-sign the long snapper
I'm not surprised to see Rose on the practice squad, kind of surprised about AbdullahVikings claimed another tight end as well as locking in the practice squad. Abdullah and Rose are back. Neither Stanley or Browning are.

I dread it when this thread gets updated. Seeing it pop up today, I knew it was either, "Irv Smith is hurt badly" or "Kirk Cousins tested positive for Covid and the Vikings re-signed Fat Stanley."****
I'm guessing if Kene ends up on Short term IR, they'll add Abdullah to the active roster. He's serviceable, and would be a stopgap for the 3 weeks that Kene would be unavailable.I'm not surprised to see Rose on the practice squad, kind of surprised about Abdullah
Irv Smith's injury is a bummer, but the offense was really good last year, and hopefully will pick up where they left off.I'm so unexcited for the Vikings season and have zero hope for them to be remotely good. Kene is the only thing keeping me hanging on with my attention.

I haven't been a Kirk Cousins defender, necessarily, but I think he's been better than he gets credit for. But, with that said, if they stumble to another slightly below .500 record and miss the playoffs, I will fully support the Cousins experiment coming to an end, of only to try something new.My guess is the Vikings season mirrors the Cubs season.
Start the year better than most think.. Fans start to get excited as they lead the division (Tie with the Packers at 4-2). Then the season falls apart and they end up wining too many games to get a Top QB in the draft for 2022
He seems to be able to put up consistent numbers but not win games. He's safeI haven't been a Kirk Cousins defender, necessarily, but I think he's been better than he gets credit for. Hopefully Kene can get on the active roster. Hasn't had a chance to really showcase muchGriffen re-signed to the active roster as well as the the long snapper they cut yesterday. Irv Smith, Chad Beebe, and Kene were all put on IR to make space.
Kene is eligible to return in 3 weeks
I'm curious for your reasoning is behind this. Kirk may not be everyone's cup of tea, but he was top ten in the league in yards and TDs last year with a quarterback rating of over 100. He didn't have a great start to the season, but after that initial skid, he put up great numbers, and did it behind a terrible offensive line.Until Cousins is gone it’s going to be tough for me to even care.
