Unfortunately I think he'll lose his spot on the active roster because of it. Smith-Marsette has been everything the Vikings drafted Kene to be, he even carried the ball tonight in addition to averaging 25 yards per kick return

Ito Smith got cut. Cook and Mattison are #1 and 2, obviously. I think Abdullah will be #3 and they will probably keep either Kene or Rose and then put the other one on the practice squad. Rose has looked pretty good. I like his cutting ability and he does a good job finding holes, but Kene's speed is a major advantage. I read a training camp article a while back that said Kene was doing great an kickoff and punt coverage.

How bad is his injury?

Kene is going to make the roster, unless his injury is far worse than has been suggested. Not a chance they're going to expose him to being signed by another team, by putting him on the practice squad. Rose has played well, but he's the guy that will hit the practice squad.

I think so too. Kene impressed the coaches and his teammates. They all mention his speed and some reports say he is the fastest player on the team.
