***Official 2013 Bracketology Thread***

I'm not usually in the media conspiracy crowd, but following most of the prominent CBB writers in twitter, they LOVE Kentucky. A lot of them follow recruiting closely, so they are invested in seeing the kids they watched all summer. It's obvious and sickening. I guess that's the perks of being national champs. Kentucky is IN.

I know. But the Selection Committee also looks at how you end your season. And Minnesota has just lost to 2 very bad teams in Nebraska and Purdue. And 5-10 over their last 15 games. They are not a Tourney team.
I thought the committee did away with the "last 10 games" measure a couple of years ago?

They actually got rid of the "last 12 game" metric. I'm sure it's still a factor but not as a defined basis as it was a few years ago.

This doesn't mean that the committee holds the same love for them. They may, I don't know, but the media is not the committee.

Looks like CBS sports has us in the play-in game and yahoo sports has us as the first team above the play in game line. ESPN has us just above the play in game line.

If either of those are right, we really need to beat OU to avoid the play in game or having some crazy senario of missing the tourney altogether.

Palm has us as his last team in, but I tend to ignore most of what Palm says since he isn't even in the same class as Lundardi

When you look at ESPN's bracket it is hard to see how any of those teams below us should go ahead of for the play in game.

Although I don't like Jerry Palm much and don't want a First Four matchup, the rest of his bracket for us would be phenomenal.

He's got Iowa State facing Tennessee in Dayton in a play-in for a 12 seed. The winner gets 5 seed Butler in Kansas City. Ohio State is the 4 seed in that bracket also in Kansas City. The regional semis and finals would be in Arlington, TX.

Those sites are about as good as it gets for Cyclone fans.

If we blew a game the way Michigan just did, we'd be in serious meltdown mode right now. "Why can't we finish games?",etc..
