Just want to let everybody know that this is in my opinion an extreme long shot, but I have heard rumblings from a couple of places now that Kyle Kempt is considering trying to get a 6th year of eligibility. I'm really not sure what grounds he has for one. I was told it is a "long, long shot." But I know the discussions are happening. Stay tuned, but don't get your hopes up.

I'd be 100% OK with this, too. Especially from a development standpoint.

Getting a sixth year wouldn't necessarily mean he's the starter. It would just be good to have that steadying veteran presence in the locker room. They lose a lot of senior leadership after this year.

I agree there, but like I just noted I'm looking at it from a development standpoint. Having Zeb as a (potential) 3 year starter would be fantastic for a program that lacks QB consistency.

Interesting. I’m a big fan of Kempt, so I’d be happy with it. I know a lot of people around here aren’t. But I was surprised how effusive Campbell was about him on Saturday.

That’s been my argument for having zeb as the starter over park so I can’t disagree with you.

Kempt might not be "the answer" for next year, but it would be a 100% positive development to have him in the mix.

To add to that, Kyle has basically sat on a bench for five years just patiently waiting for a shot. I think he'd be a positive influence for the team even if it was in a backup role.

That would be great for the transition to the Zeb era!

From what Kyle said about he and Zeb working together to prepare like a starter every week prior to when Park left, I believe he would be a great influence in any position on the depth chart.

Don't even know if Park will be with the team next year. If that's the case you have a RS soph with limited playing experience, A RS freshman coming off of knee surgery, and a true freshman. The staff would then have to bring in either a juco or grad transfer which can be box of chocolates. Kempt is a known commodity and you know you can win with him. This is a no brainer if it can happen.
