Next year and Kyle Kempt

I think, regardless of outcome, that this is refreshing. How many seniors over the past 5-10 years looked forward to the end of their football career after burning out here? Now we are seeing a guy wanting to and trying to continue playing despite obviously having other non-football opportunities and knowing it's a long shot. To me, that speaks to the culture this staff and these players are starting to put in place.

I would love to see Kempt comeback but I would really be jacked if Campos files paperwork for a medical hardship waiver. Has anyone heard any birdies chirping regarding Campos?

Nothing against Park or Zeb...but they have a combined total of zero top 5 wins.

And Zeb is the future of our program. But yeah, lets wait to give him as many reps as possible when he has already shown he's ready to be the starter.

Like I said, I'm not trying to take anything away from Kyle, but I like to look into the future a little bit more than just next year.

Would it be good to have Kyle come back and push Zeb for the starter? Yes.

I think that if Kempt was to get a sixth year then the coaches would open up a competition for the starting QB spot in the spring. I would hope that Zeb would win it outright in that scenario for the long term interest of the program, but if KK is the better option then I'm good rolling with him. He's earned the chance to compete for the job should he get another season of eligibility.

Yes. He was interviewing for a job the morning he was told he would be starting against Okie.

I quickly browsed this and read it as "He was interviewing for a job this morning and he was told he would be starting against Okie". I thought, dang, the Big 12 must really be feeling guilty about the officiating last Saturday to promote ISU into the Big 12 championship game...

Bruns said on Twitter a few weeks ago it was very unlikely Campos would have an extra year, either due to the NCAA not approving, but also Campos mobility and health may not be up to par.

To be fair, Zeb hasn't had the opportunity to play against any top 5 teams
I was just playing a little devil's advocate. I thought Zeb had a really nice game against OSU and should have started against KState. IMO quarterback consistency is the most important piece for an offense to function efficiently and bouncing back and forth with quarterbacks isn't a great strategy. Then again, I'm not Matt Campbell and I would trust he puts the quarterback on the field who gives the Cyclones the best opportunity to win.
